124,

That was an interesting article/story your posted. Could you post the link to the story if possible?

Thanks!

Sorry, Chris. There's nothing serious about that, it was just one of these internet gags that someone sent me in an e-mail - you know how these things go around. Pretty comical, though and, I suppose, almost plausible, given some of the stuff the EU gets up to.

Firefox has a spell checker built in. Misspelled words are underlined in red and you can right click on the word to see other options/choices.

Here is a technical article from the Mozilla Knowledge Base on how to setup advanced features.

I loved Firefox until Chrome came out....much faster. Firefox is still a great browser...but my 2nd choice.

When I write a reply, it gets spell-checked automatically in the "Your Reply" box. I always thought there WAS a spell-checker in the SZ, but if you're having that problem, then it must be my Firefox browser that's doing it.

Hey Cassp, gee I would never have dared to open this topic, but here we are.
I always proof read my posts, but sometimes an error gets through. I am a pedant re. spelling and grammar to the point of being boring, boring, just like I am about Golf Rules. My spelling improves all the time by doing this.
I enjoy reading Diki's posts, if only for their grammatical content, his structure of sentences, and the ability to so eloquently put his "thoughts" on view.
124, You started with The Oxford Dictionary,
and ended with Colonel Clink. Very amusing!!

Unfortunately this old BBS software will not support spelling checkers, but it does let you edit your posting after you have posted. If you notice you have made a mistake simply edit it.

Or, if you had a Mac, there would be a system-wide spellchecker for everything you type...

This thread has been very enlightening. Maybe I will try some of your suggestions.

That feature should not be possible, because during the years
it's not only spellcheck who cause posts to be edited to a
totally other post than in the first place, or even removed
when turned out in a different direction than the author
probably would like it to.
Sometimes the rest og the tread stay totally meaningless when
such happen.

Cheers
