Has anyone used just the bin with no speakers attached? I already have powered main speakers and was looking for adding some more bottom end. I already own a Z5500 so was thinking I can just use the bin...can someone advice?

i used a z 2300 bin without speakers with
a my pa . worked fine. z5500 should do the same.

I've modified my Z55s to accept 1/4" plugs, and have used the sub with 2 non powered speaker cabinets through a mixer ... I use the cabs as right and left outs from the Z55 sub ... works great ...

I have used just the sub with 2 JBL 10G2's. The best hookup for this purpose after trying everything is to plug the sub into the headphone jack. That way your master volume will adjust the sub and speakers.
