I think if you get a good deal, get the 2080! It has the big LCD, 6 outputs, 8 expansion slots and 3 insert effects.

I own 2 JV1080's and if you don't need the extra effects busses and expansion slots, look at one of these as they are easy to use also even though they only have a 2x40 LCD.

Forget the JV1010 unless you a). Use a computer extensively and/or b). Rely soley on factory sounds. I bought one of these and sold it very dissapointed- granted, you don't spend much money but it shows with it's user interface (it basically hasn't got one!) and others things I found important such as extra expansion slots and outputs. Of course this is only IMHO!!!!

I don't know if there's any truth to it, but I seem to recall someone mentioning that the Roland factory in Japan has stopped making JV2080's - can we expect something new at the upcoming NAMM show?

If so perhaps 2080's will be cleared at bargin prices? Well I can dream anyway...

Here in Australia, I find the price of the JV2080 way to much at $3,495 retail! Even the JV1080 retails at $2,495 but you don't really get that much more in the 2080 for the extra one thousand bucks. However, I will get the 2080 because I need the extra expansion slots. When it's price comes down dramatically, I will snap one up.

I really couldn't believe that I would run out of expansion slots so quickly!!!!!
