I installed Windows Vista on one of my comps few days ago and what a ...
NIGHTMARE...the worst thing i've seen in my life...from now on i will just
laugh at anyone who says anything good about this, i just feel sorry for the
people who never tasted a MAC Operating System. This is BAD people,
i am sorry...and also dont tell me i dont know how to tweak and this and
that, i work on computers since 1991, since MS DOS. I had XP on the same
computer and it was alright but this is a nightmare. I feel sorry for users.
For 5 days straight its installing some updates every 5 minutes, every minute
some updates are ready to install...ahahahahaha...
I am sorry, i'll stay on my SNOW baby...this is garbage for kids.

Why O Why did you install Vista when very little good has been said about it. (I would not wish it on my worst enemy)
Even Microsoft recognises it’s a disaster, (Although they won’t admit it publicly) which is why Windows 7 was bought forward.
If you had waited till October you could have Windows 7, which is an absolute beauty in comparison. (The Beta version of Windows 7 made the final release of Vista look poor)
Sorry if I don’t seem sympathetic, (I do understand what you are going through) but all the warnings were out there.
You could try to see if the dealer will do a swap for Windows 7. (Make an excuse for incompatibility problems or similar)
Best thing I can suggest (If you can’t change it) is pop over to the various Vista forums, as they should be able to help you get it to some form of normality.
Best of luck

Bill

Hi Nedim

I've been a happy VISTA user for many years. No problems here on two machines.

I'm also running a beta version of Windows 7 64Bit which is like the best of XP and VISTA in one package plus lots more. It's easily going to turn out to be the best OS Microsoft has ever put out.

Can't wait for all the Multi-touch screens to start pouring out.

Regards
James

If you choose the right hardware, you can run Vista very well....

Keep in mind to install from a fresh created Vista CD containing all upgrades.

Next to that don't install Vista 64 bit when using vst's and such, many vst's are still only 32 bit. Many of htose and other musical apps refuse to work under 64 bit. As they are programmed for 32 bit and their programmers refuse to update them to 64 bit.

Next to that....... i'd stay away from both Windows and Apple stuff..... I'd go with Linux as its free, by supporting Linux and the free BSD community people will finally be free to have their OS as they want it to be.... When people start using Linux more and more, more and more software will be ported to Linux.

Hi

I'm using Vista Business on 2 laptops and 1 PC for a long time now, not any problem.
Neither do I see any problems show up on other PC's and Laptop's used by the company
I work for.
For use of older software, just remember to righclick the .exe file in programfolder
and set what compability for file to run in.
The problems I've heard of, are mainly because people run 64 bit Vista and get some
compability problems, both hardware and software.
Myself I run 32 bit versions to avoid not devloped and missing drivers etc.

Regarding updates, yes, if just installed Vista, you have to go through the update
prosess several times until you're ajour and up to date. Later it's usually around
every 10.th in month, and that you can choose to run automaticly.
Once in a while it also it happens there is emergency updates to repair new and urgent
issues reported or detected.

I agree that Vista did not run well at first, too early release, but nowadays, not
any problems.
Anyway, Windows 7 is just around the corner, many happy faces and reports about that
new OS version.

Cheers
