What JBL line blew, Nigel? Bet you they 'offshore' it...
I have friends, and play in a couple of local joints that use JBL JRX speakers. I have to confess, these are the worst piece of rubbish JBL have ever put out. The horns are constantly blowing, the horns are weak and don't project well (I used to be able to stick my ears right next to the horn while the band was playing full blast and it didn't hurt

) and compared to the SR line, took more power for the same volume.
But, one can hardly blame them for buying these, as addicted as Americans have become to buying the cheapest, nastiest stuff they can find..! At least they can afford SOMETHING, and that, at least, will allow them to ignore the fact that, in the past, their income would have allowed them to buy something that WORKED. You know, were it not for cheap Chinese (and other Far East sites) products, we MIGHT have to face the fact that our Corporate Masters have succeeded in lowering our wages to the point where we CAN'T buy quality any more. Thank God for Podium. Without them, we might have to face up to how shafted the workers (that's us, before you start to pretend you are some kind of CEO just because you are self employed!) have been for the past 30 years.

And, Lord knows, you wouldn't want to piss off the proletariat, would you?
