The whole thing about playing an arranger is to "ARRANGE" the playing as to sound like more then one. This includes using all the sounds & articulate them in a manner in which they are prescribed to do in their real performance state. A good arranger player is more then just a keyboard actuator & must study how each sound operates and fits in the mix with Styles & SMF, etc, etc, ...multitasking is an understatement when properly playing and arranger KB.

Europa is a great tune, first recorded by Carlos in 1978. Gato Barberi had a major jazz hit with it in the last few years. I agree that the guitar tone from this guy wasn't very impressive on the balad. It was better on Europa, but that's because he was emulating a distorted solo.

Good young player trying to improve. And, that's a good thing.

Yeah, like Noel Jay (Pasadoble) on his July posting of Masquerade. Good guitar phrasing and nuances. You could actually believe it was a guitar. Great work on that one.

Bottom line it will always be a keyboard vs the real thing as it should be. One instrunement sound doesnt make a band,.

But one instrument poorly emulated can ruin a band...

I prefer to stick to what I do best, and avoid those I have trouble with. Guitar chording has always been non-intuitive for me, despite actually playing some guitar. The spread of the chords, the voicing, the transitions have always been counter-intuitive for me, and have the greatest respect for those that learn it well enough to fool someone that plays guitar!

That WAS a beautiful job ...

cass ... I have the same problem ... but I will use the guitar sounds on occasion ... fortunately my audiences aren't analyzing EVERY note I play ...
