Hi mdorantes, I'll give those a try also. I've got a korg stylegroup member who's into movie soundtrack type of styles (me too). Never thought to check out the Turkish styles. Thank you. Luv to hear your arrangement of Aquaruium. Hi Bill, thanks for the great link. best wishes Rikki Originally posted by mdorantes:
Try the Turkish styles, there are couple of those in the World category on the Factory Styles. I use both in my arrangement of "Aquarium".

I've been away, and haven't caught up on a lot of the posts. Did you actually get yourself an s910?? awesome.
best wishes Rikki
Yes, I have just received an S910, and so far, it is awesome. I did a style for the S900/T2/T3 called Freestyle and it is good for soundtracks...it has no percussion, and you can basically play any tempo (or play rubato) ...it is similar to Ethereal Ballad on the Tyros3, although I had made this one a few months before the T3 was even out. Here is the style, in a zipped folder that includes an MP3 and a MIDI demo to give you an idea how it sounds...it should work on your PSR-1500 as it contains no Mega voices...it works on the 3K, I'm told. http://www.4shared.com/file/139751464/e3eee58d/Freestyle_S900.html Variation "C" is the one I use the most and what I used to make the simple demo, which is just played and recorded with one take. I posted it a while ago on SZ, so you may already have it. I think the S910 is a keeper. Ian

Hi Ian, that's great. It's good to hear your S910 is awesome. Thank you so much for your style & demo. I hadn't come across it before. I know the Ethereal Ballad, such an interesting concept. 32 bars of basically pads except for variation 3 which has that great harp ? sequence or would you call it a riff? running thruought. I get confused with some of the terminology, riffs, arpeggio's etc I've been trying to find some more of those type sequences to create multi pads from to give variety to the style. I actually did a style called Space based on the concept for my Korg. Mix of psr & biab tracks. BIAB has a similar type of style ( the sequence is different & I've used it instead of Ethereal sequence.) The BIAB guys did this great demo called Neptune, space style works really well with it. I luv space type soundtracks, bit of a scifi nut. haahaa. best wishes Rikki Originally posted by ianmcnll: Yes, I have just received an S910, and so far, it is awesome.

Hi Ian, just downloaded your demo's.
All I can say is "AWESOME".
Absolutely luv those 2 tunes you did a beautiful job of them (as usual).
They're the type of songs that are difficult to find a suitable style for, short of using some sort of modified hollywood , or broadway or swing style, which really take away from the feel of the song.
Would have never occurred to me to use something along the lines of the Ethereal style for this type of song. My brain's out there "Lost in Space" haahaa.
Your style is going to be ever so useful to me, for some of those wonderful old songs I luv, but hardly ever get to play.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
best wishes Rikki

You're very welcome, Rikki...I'm glad the style will find some use.
It also works quite well for Christmas songs that defy a style, and I know one person that's using it in a Church situation.
Will you be able to convert it for your Korg PA-800? Hopefully so, as the Korg's have some terrific pad sounds, from what I hear about them.
All the best,
Ian

Hi Ian, it definately will. Converting it across to Korg won't be a hassle, especially with no drums to remap. Korg sounds are better than on my psr1500. Ok, I'll keep it in mind for Xmas songs also. You don't also happen to have the midifile for Some Enchanted Evening. You sent the one for If Ever I Would Leave You plus another one. Luv both songs. best wishes Rikki Originally posted by ianmcnll: You're very welcome, Rikki...I'm glad the style will find some use.
