Hi All,

Much more fun before OS3 fixed the Audya, nothing but kids playing trumpets now, what's it come to, happy days, still waiting for the Audya to crash.

Cheers

And I guess that means that your Audya OK now, or?

So, what happened and what steps taken to make it work again?

Cheers

Glad to hear things have improved. Perhaps next time when things aren't going well, you might have a better perspective on whether things will get better or not!

Now that things have settled down a bit, you might have time to tell us about what you LIKE about the Audya, and how it compares to your previous arranger

Oh, and can anyone detail EXACTLY what has changed about the 'weird chords' (hah! ) in the guitar audio section..? How many new audio loops got put in (the size of the file might be a clue) and how much of it is simply better MIDI substitution...?

Tony, glad you are "getting there".
The things I like are: drums and bass live sound, organs, pianos, guitars are great. Also Violin, Pedal Steel are very good. Saxs, o.k.
New interface is way better than the old one.
Vocal processing and harmonizer sound very good.
Lots of buttons and sliders for real-time control.

Things I don't like:
Placement of pitch bend wheel.
While the key bed is excellent, it isn't that well-suited for my style of playing. My bad wrist is starting to bother me after a few nights.
I'm thinking I actually prefer 61 to 76 keys. Go figure. I suppose it's from years of using 61. Now I have to look at where my hands are going, whereas I didn't before.
I would prefer it have OTS settings from the factory, although you can make and save your own to registration.
There are a lot more pluses than minuses, and it has been entirely stable. Audience response is very positive, but then it was anyway.

Don,

Are you not editing voices , that problem of jumping to the last voice when you edit is still there in OS3 they didn't fix it and the menu and group for the styles they didn't fix, I had my hopes set on that all being fixed. I am aslo getting flashing displays whist playing not all the time. Mind you I need to read the music so I am always looking down, I'll bet you can play by memory and you are looking at the audience and don't see the display flashing!

Hope you are OK Don with it all this new learning curve.

I have only edited one Program. Didn't notice any problems. The display has never blinked.
The Style Menu display exists, but really doesn't bother me. I just have to remember that the style menu goes to the last family I used BEFORE calling a registration up.
I would prefer to work the other way, but I'm not sure it's a bug. It may be intentional that it works that way.
My "problems" are more of nature that the physical aspects don't fit me very well, rather than software or operational issues.

Don,

When you edit a voice take any voice and press the edit button and you will not got to the voice you want to edit you will end up in the voice you edit last time or if you have not carried out an edit on any voice it will take you to piano, the default ketron switch on voice, I don't think you have every edited a voice, try it, switch on from cold and they and edit CLASSIC B3 you will be editing the piano, I don't think anyone has edited a voice or you would have spotted it.

I think I am going to do a youtube of this I cannot be the only one who has this problem!

No, I haven't edited a voice, just programs. I haven't really found a need to yet, but I'm sure sometime I will.
I'm hoping they will eventually address all these issues. I suppose I'm lucky that very few of them affect the way I'm using the Audya.

Don,

I still have mine and every other night I take the PA2x off the stand and put the Audya back on, luck sod having the two but something keeps drawing me back in what the hell it is I don't know, it doesn't have the pad the korg has and that does make a difference

Glad you are happy - you have had a bit of a time with it all, falling off trucks.

Cheers Don.

Don,

Can you try this go to classic b3 press edit and tell us what is in the edit window, the program button will light up and you should end up editing the piano if yours is like Skude then my Audya is up to pole. I wish I could phone you and go throught it both at the same time, I have seen it do this on other Audya and my first one did it

Check out this. programbutton on, select any programvoice. then programbutton OFF. go to any voice, press edit, you will end up in editscreen of the last selected programvoice. I did not try this the first time. I have only edit voices in program, I thought this was the only way

since you own both AUDYA and PA2Xpro, just wish your personal advice on an upgrade from Tyros 2. You may remember I do not gig, but you arrangers mainly as a shortcut in studio production (most of the stuff I do now with VSTs). My type of music is mainly acoustic. Any advice welcome.
