So I'm uploading my first videos onto my website: www.larrylevinmusic.com using my Zoom Q3 video recorder.

I have one song that I was able to upload as a .mov extension which is the extension that the Zoom Q3 creates when it makes a video.

When I went to upload my second song which was just a bit longer in length, it wouldn't upload onto my website. It was a little too large, I guess, about 76mb.

So I converted the file to a flash video file, .flv making it just 10mb. It uploads fine, but the audio is kind of crappy.

What format will shrink the original a little, is better than flash video, and is likely to be able to be uploaded onto my website?

Will changing the audio bit rate on the Zoom Q3 from 224kbps to 192kbps shrink the audio size enough to make the file size significantly smaller?

I can upload .mov files onto my website but not large ones.

Beakybird...Wouldn't that be 22.4..this would be the lowest quality..where as 192 would be the highest quality

No, there is higher quality than 192. The Zoom records in wav and in mp3 quality up to 320kbps.

If you are talking about 224000 then thats too large. There is no point recording even at 1920000.
Just record in a regular 44100 and you will be fine, a lot more then needed.

Why not just upload it to youtube? You wouldn't be taking up any space on your site and youtube is quick. Plus you'd get more coverage when what you do is googled.

Nedim, you are talking about recording with wav audio. You cannot upload onto Youtube or anywhere with CD quality audio.

I'm talking about different mp3 compressions.

Scott, good question. Why don't I just upload to Youtube. My website demo page was made with a player. The person who sold it to me told me that this was better than a youtube link. But now I'm sorry as the player cannot accept files as large as the ones youtube accepts.

I might have to pay to get my webpage edited so that the demo page will link to youtube rather than to the player.

Youtube says that it accepts videos up to 2gb in size, so it would seem like you can upload a video with wav audio, but my 5 minute wav video did not upload to youtube.

Youtube accepts anything up to 2 GB in size, and I think that the audio quality can be as high as you want, certainly enough to showcase your song in a positive way.

Also as Scott added, it can be Googled more efficiently and let me add that Youtube provides an ambed code so you can have the video stored on Youtube but showing and playing within your web page, which is a plus.

I sent an email to the person who developed my website to change the demo page to one that has links to Youtube instead of an internal player.
