Hey all..... I just saw in American Musical's catalog a deal where you buy a Roland XP synth and get this board (SR-JV-80-98) for around $40....... I'm not interested in the deal, but I was wondering what this board was. I've never heard of it..... is it just one of the experience (is that what they're called??) boards???? It's described as "Classic Roland Sounds".

Hello KeyboardFreak,
The SR-JV-80-98 expansion board is called "Experience 2". This board has a compalition of the first 9 boards(01-Pop; 02-Orchestral 1; 03-Piano; 04-Vintage Synth; 05- World; 07-Super Sound Set; 08-Keyboard of 60&70; 09-Session and 10-Bass & Drum) and some other new patches.
The board contains 100 patches and 27(only)waveforms. Roland made this board as a 'food sampler plate' so we can check out the sample sounds for each board.
At one time, Roland gave it out as a complement item when someone bought the JV2080 sound module new.
