HankB passed away a little after midnight this morning.
Thanks for your prayers and encouragement. It meant a lot to him to know that all his friends were thinking of him.
He will be in a better place now and be free of the pain.

Peace.

RAMBLIN BOY
(Tom Paxton)

He was a pal and a friend always
We rambled round in the hard ol' days
He never cared if I had no dough
We rambled round in the rain and snow

So here's to you my ramblin' boy
May all your rambles bring you joy
So here's to you my ramblin' boy
May all your rambles bring you joy

In Tulsa town we chanced to stray
We thought we'd try to work one day
The boss says he had room for one
Says my old pal, "We'd rather bum"

CHORUS
Late one night in a jungle camp
The weather was cold and it was damp
He got the chills, and he got them bad
They took the only friend I ever had

CHORUS

He left me here to ramble on
My ramblin' pal is dead and gone
If when we die we go somewhere
I'll bet you a dollar he's ramblin' there

CHORUS

Hank was a wonderful, caring and giving person. Though Carol and I met him on a trip south six years ago, since that time we kept in touch constantly. I feel fortunate in that I was able to visit with him just prior to his passing and hold his hand.

Good Bye old friend,

Gary

Sorry to hear of Hank's passing Don. My condolences go out to his family and friends. We will sure miss his presence here on the Zone. I'm sure he put up a noble fight to the very end too; but now he can finally be at rest from the pain and suffering and no more tears in heaven that awaits.

All the best,
Mike

Don - another of our brother SynthZone voices has been silenced. So sad to hear the news. May Hank finally rest in peace and may his (and your family) find solace in the relief he has been granted from his pain.

My deepest sympathies

I have to pass this along, because it is a positive thing. Last week I visited Hank and had a Saints Division Championship cap on. He had not asked for anything much in weeks, but he loved that hat, so I went and bought him one. He wore it almost continually until he passed away, and when he wasn't wearing it, he placed in on the table where he could see it.
I know he watched the game tonight in total comfort.

It's a sad time for friends, family; even casual acquaintences. But, let's not forget to fondly remember the great things; one of the most important being the strong bond Hank had with others. We'd all be so fortunate to have a friend like "Gentleman Don".

It's sobering to see what happens in rough times. Sadly, often, most are just too tied up to become involved. True natures are revealed.

What's obvious here is strong evidence of a life that mattered; a life lived by a person of substance who made the world a better place.

And that's a pretty great legacy.
