Actually in the northern part of Italy it snows a lot; it's here in Rome that snow is really uncommon. The last real snowfall before this one was in 1985...

Great photos Andrea. Haven't been to Italy since I was a young man in the U.S. Navy. I vividly recall those locations in Rome, but most of my time was spend in the Mediterranean Sea and southern Italy.
