Oh my gosh.. I have just figured out that I can synch midi files witn styles and if I mute the song and allow it to play the style you can do something like play Thriller in an 8beat style and it plays the exact chords and I can lead it in another style altogether... gosh the possibilities are endless!.. that is just so incredible, I am blow away.. sorry i had to share that joy i've never seen anything like it !

Interesting... I had heard you could go from SMF to style play in sync with Yamaha's (not Roland's, though) but I had never heard that the SMF could actually trigger the NTA of the arranger side before. That's very cool. You could use it as a 'super Riff' function like Ketron's, but user definable, all kinds of things.

What arranger are you doing this on?

OMG Diki, I have just creamed myself.

It's on the T3..

I tell you what I've just done, I've played Thriller using Clubdance2, I muted the tracks 3 and 11 (bass and drums of the midi file), played the rest of the accomp with Clubdance 2 and the results are stunning, truly stunning... I really don't know what to say.. Never seen anything like it..

Danny,

You can do the same thing with the PSR-S910.

Hi Ian!

Have you tried it? It's really good isn't it.

I've done an example here, it's bad quality because I've not bothered to mix the volume properly but it's just an example of what can be done, I've also just picked out various styles and not really co-ordinated it properly, as I said just for testing purposes. I think it's really cool anyway even if it's not something new

Select a style in the same genre, then select the midi file, press play on the midi file, then press the start/stop button of the style file. Be sure the accompaniment is turned on. The style fill will sync to the midi file. Lots of options for you to select from.
