maybe folks here oughta just relax and enjoy their instrument now and when the new update comes , whenever that might be, they can enjoy that too. Ketron will get it to you when it is ready. It is really as simple as that . Have fun with the instrument you have now. :-)

Some questions and answers for those who make mony with music for life:
For what we spend 4000Euro?
-cos we want to haw a top aranger on that world
Haw much time we nead to programing kayboard for gigs?
-some less some more, but one mounth can be queck...
Is rational programing Audya with OS3.0 and make registrations?
- my opinion is NO!
Whay?
-cos Ketron still programing brend new OS4 or what ever we call them.
For what we then spend money?
-I dont know....

From what I understand Ketron still want to finish a few more Audio Styles to include with OS4, plus some other finishing touches. The Audya used for the roadshow was the same as the one used at last May's demonstration in Pakefield.

Robert Messier says it will be released in the coming weeks but could not give a specific date (he knew when his elements would be completed but not the others working on the project).

Deployment of the upgrade in the UK may be done via the dealer network in a series of 'Update Days'. Customers can bring their Audya along to the nearest reseller where a specialist will update the keyboards for them. But as we learn more this may change too nearer the change; it all depends on how the final package is released and if Audya owners are concerned about damaging their instrument.

In other words everyone that saw version 4 on the roadshow was extremely happy, and are content to wait a little while longer while the loose edges are tied together.

thats exactly what I am talking about, we were all led to believe that OS4 was finished and ready to release, now its another story of oh! just a couple more touches and so on, its a saga of ginormous proportions.

I think we all agree, what we saw and heard at Messe was fantastic, but Ketron will need to do some fast recovery to install confidence back into a market place that they almost destroyed single handedly. I dont know who thier marketing or management of delivery PR is, but Its amazing that they are still there. This keyboard and module at the right price, could have, with financial backing taken Yamaha,Roland and Korg to the edge, but they are sitting back i'm sure waiting to see it all falls over, because promises should only be made when you can back them up, and they at least have learn't that lesson. What can I say, as a prospective purchaser I am worried that they will not deliver, and this is a big investment, cant afford to get it wrong.

Well I guess the only thing to say is: good things come to those who wait. I fully apprehend that people are starting to get frustrated with this whole ordeal – I am too. But nevertheless I do not mind waiting a couple of weeks more for them to get it right. Thus far the Audya has been basically useless for me and I had it for almost a year now – but this I anticipated could happen when I initially bought the damn thing. I mean after all Ketron is an Italian company – they have a relaxed attitude, which I find admirable. All we can do is being patient and then hopefully OS4 will blow our socks off once it arrives.
Keep on smiling

I must be dense. I still don't understand the concept of paying a huge amount for a piece of gear that you find unsatisfactory OOTB but you are hoping that the next version of the OS will "blow your socks off", especially given the recent update history of it's predecessor, the SD5. DonM seems to be the only one that bought it for the way it sounds RIGHT NOW and is happily (and successfully) using it as the main board in his performance rig. Everyone else (mostly) seems to have bought it for what it MIGHT SOMEDAY be. Like I said, I'm probably just dense.

Its not that your dense, you just havn't had the right opportunity to play an Audya and understood what it is all about. That was the reason for the Ketron UK roadshow.

Only one or two have been unhappy (remember most of those that grumble on SZ are not owners). The vast majority have been more than satisfied with leaving behind old fashioned midi styles and having the feeling of playing with live musicians. Honestly unless you spend an hour with an Audya you wont get it. Has nothing to do with your IQ.
