Diki is absolutely right. Find a person who plays the general style you want to play. And, pay attention to personality. You need someone who not only understands the instrument and the style, but...YOU!
There are some tenured university music professors playing (occasionally) in the local market who SUCK!
A talented, decent player would be honored to help a sincere person who wanted to learn.
And don't forget the sharing part from your end. Man, you've got as much to give as you're looking for.
And, after all, sharing music is what it's all about!
Believe it or not, there are lot's of us in the same boat.
