Do yourself a favor and grab one of these at this price. I've had one for several months and I prefer it to the Zoom H2. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid

If you don't LOVE it, send it to me!
I would order another one except my work has been cut back, at least temporarily.

Don, I have been thinking of picking up a small recorder...to record on the gigs...I have used a Sony mini disc in the past..but the transfer and size of the disc are too outdated..

I have never cared for any of the Zoom line...but I would take a chance on Tascam..I think it will work out ok with a line in from the Edirol mixer..

You dirty dog, I bit on the DonM Syndrome... a very powerful draw to buy something you really don't need because it's a good deal. I have two Zoom H4's, which I bought from you and Hank, and I love the H4! But, what the hey, I'll give this a try. I figure if it doesn't trip my trigger, sell it. Or return it.

I use my Zoom H4's constantly to record guitar/vocal through the onboard mics. Outstanding results.

Anyway, that WAS a good deal, I look forward to trying it.

Tony, I have owned the MR802(may be the wrong model number) and also the cheap 4 channel unit...

I never liked the quality of the recordings..both..when I recorded and also recordings from professional studio..

Also the visibility..trying to use on stage was difficult at best..

In the past, I had better recording experience with Fostex, Tascam ,Sony and even Sharp devices..

Why would anyone need more than ONE of these things..?

Small enough to carry around permanently, little bigger than a cell-phone... I LOVED my little H2, and to be honest, although my H4n has some more capabilities, I am starting to miss the tiny character of the simple H2.

Have recorder will travel . Bill one of those h4's may have been mine once upon a time. I sold it to dnj who I think then traded it with Hank for another piece of gear. Just a useless piece on info, but interesting how gear travels between SZ members

I have DonM's Zoom H2, love the results, easy to see and use menus and not much larger than a pack of cigarettes.

Cheers,

Gary
