Looks like June for the 61 note Audya

and July for the module. There are some prices but they are not set in stone as of yet.

Hmmm.
Just thinking of Ketron and history of dates for releases.
Did they mention what year?

Not long before winter NAMM, maybe it's ready by then ....

Cheers
GJ

Btw,
first 2nd hand Audya I've seen for sale at local "ebay" now,
but price still quite too high.
Is it worth to pay same price you can buy both T3 and PA2X for
only one Audya ???
I doubt it ........ but that's of course if it is'nt stuffed
inside with pure gold.

I would agree with the new release of the Audya, but it's the same guts, just a different shell, so I think it's a realistic time frame.

I'm not quite sure about that. Maybe some hardwarechanges done to
manage fulfill some of the stuff promissed or asked for as well as
prepare for future improve or/and developements?

Do new Audya keyboards shipped from Italy with OS4 contain the same
hardware and specs as the ones already shipped around the world?

I was told that the hardware was essentially the same. There might be a change in the board where an additional memory can be added, but nothing that would be considered a big change.

other than that it's the same

Audya 4/5 will be shipped with OS 4.0 unless they change again till then and add more stuff
thru another OS. I also think it will be around June/July this year somewhere.
I am getting the 5 too, not just considering but i am getting one definitely.
Price wise i still dont think it will be less then at least 3800$ if we are lucky.

I never said i hate it or i love it but this time the Audya 5 has what i need...for example:

1. 61 Keys and lighter version
2. Pitch Bend or JS on its propper space
3. More Sampling RAM
4. OS 4 is promising and will be Native when bought
5. Style Creator will be there...
6. Less money then the Original Audya
7. More people will buy it bigger market for me

I guess thats enough.

Nedim,

out of curiosity

why would you even consider getting the AUDYA
or any other arranger when
you have said many times that you do not play live
and also said that AUDYA lacked sampler, or perhaps had the most BASIC form of a sampler

wouldn't a workstation be what you use/need as ALL your playing programming is done at home ?

Well in reality it wont matter to me personally since i wont be combining styles,
i usually create from scratch and most of the work i do in a DAW and then just
conversion, the Ketron Arrangers dont support COPY/PASTE with different Bar
lengths on their own but if done thru Software then it does work, what i mean is
on any Ketron Machine you cannot have a Style that has Var 1 2 bars and Var 2
4 Bars...it cant be done on the machine but can be done with software...and of
course they will probably implemented, its one of the basic features.

I dont personally play live but i need the machines to create Products for commercial uses.
So anyhow, i have to own few synths even without a need to use them Live, i play live once
in a while and strictly with Bands. I do a lot of recordings and programming but having only
one or 2 workstations or using strictly a DAW i will be limited cuz creating a SoundSet or a
StyleSet it still requires the propper machine at hand, it cant be all done somewhere else.
I own 14 Keyboards, i had 17 last year, half of them are in closets, for my own personal things
and recordings i strictly use DAW and Vintage Analog machines, (ARP2600, TB303 and MS20)
are the only ones i have. I've produced and recorded several albums lately and for all of them
not almost but completely the whole work was done in a DAW and SoftSynths/Samplers, not
even a single Sound used from a hardware Keyboard...i sold 3 of my Keyboards and now
massively selling everything except my Vintage, i wanna come down only to a Computer,
SoundCard, Preamp, 2 pairs of Speakers and 1 Keyboard in front of me, nothing else, everything
else can be substituted using SoftSynths/Samplers and a DAW. The last time i sequencer something
was back in 1999 on a Korg IX300 and since then i dont have a clue about any of the Sequencers
of the present machines, if you ask me about M3, MOTIF, FANTOM, TRITON (which i owned and used
all) i still dont know how their Sequencer actually works, never ever used it. Right now i am creating
a lot of GE's and sometimes when doing Patterns i have Problems using M3's Sequencer, i forget
cuz i dont use it on a daily basis, it sux.

Norwegian dealer have now the new Ketron products at the webshop, and predict delivery June/July ...

Prices: Full / Offer , all converted from Norwegian Kroner into US$. Todays currency 1$= NKr 5,925

Audya : 10120 / 8204
Audya 5: 8432 / 7580
Audya 4: 7419 / 5967

(Tyros 3 price at the moment: $ 5553, iow, cheeper than the new Audya module)

Guess the prices will lower a dollar or two when the "news" turns to old news.....

Cheers

Yes Gunar but thats converted from Norwegian prices to US, if it comes to 7000$ that doesnt
mean here will be that much, as in the case of the original Audya, overseas converted prices was 8000$.

But the ratio between prices is likely to be similar across different countries...

But a module more expensive than a T3? Already the most expensive regular arranger?

Sorry... I think I'm passing.

I know Nedim, that's my point, Ketron prices here are at a very very high level
compared to other countries.
And it's not due to taxes, because elecronic music instruments can be imported
custom/toll free.
No Italian WAT added when shipped, but Norwegian WAT added when imported here.
Guess that's common practice elsewhere too?

So, if it's not Ketron who rise the price for the items shipped to Norway simply
because destination is Norway, then it most be the importer/dealer who have big
pockets to be filled up with $$$$.

Yep very expensive, and a HUGE module at nearly 500mm long!!

Price out here (Oz) will be $5200...Dealer reckons he cannot do much better as he is given very little margin to work with.

Lee I know after you pull the trigger if at all and buy one of these...there will be more complaining for sure...or maybe you should wait for Roland, Yamaha, or Korg's next offering to be sure you didn't make a mistake.

I hate the yamaha arranger sound. All of them. Drums are thin. Weak. Styles Latin pale in comparison to Ketron

Roland I own G70. Like it. But Ketrons sound ovrall is better. Ketron cuts through Pa. Sounds full. Sounds live. I use both at same time.so I talk from experience. And rolands Latin styles are a joke really.

So unless. Roland or yamaha. Or korg. Release an arranger with real drums. Real. Accomp guitars. Real good Latin styles. Real. Live sounding,,,,,, Im not Interested

till then it's. Audya by a longshot.
Just hope Ketron can make this next OS bullet proof

There is a new ford Focus coming out this Christmas and when it is released and shown in public you will be able to buy one a week later. What gives guys? People will have forgotten what the 61 note Audya looks like in June, Doh, no they won't Tone it looks like the old Audya, its called progress and it's got the same OS. I hope they have cured the problems on the MB and the SB and then Skude will perhaps buy a 61, thinking he will have better luck next time. But Frank has it got the same hardware, if so Skude keep pumping for your new bits, they are just going through the surface mount picker and flow soldering machine as we speak. If Skude puts his Audya on EBay, the new owner may never use the COUNT IN or the vocalizer and only one speaker, he’ll never know its shot! If he's deaf it will be a bonus, get it on Ebay Skude and stop pestering Ketron, it was only £4200, move on Skude, get a life, go fishing, start talking to the wife again. Hey DonM has gone quiet. I was just thinking when I swapped my T2 for the Audya (Doh)the local dealer said you don’t want a 61 note KB, look at this Audya 76 notes much better can’t live without the extra keys, now the new 61 note Audya much better takes up less room, must have one.

i cant take Ketron seriously ,they have now been working fore more than 3 years with the audya ,and still it is not a completed product.
And they dont communicate with dealers and customers.
You all know in this economic crisis that this will be a 'last waltz' fore Ketron, they will never survive with this behavior.

Leezone,

I have cut and pasted every bit of SZ crap about the Audya and sent it to the Ketron factory, first they can't understand English, second they don't know how to use Google Translate, and thirdly they don't give a toss. I have never got a reply, if I were Frank or any other dealer, I would just drop them a line saying "I'm out". It won’t happen because people like many string on a bow!

I do agree that there are times when a response from them seems to take forever, also the OS4 updates have been taking quite awhile, but as the keyboard stands noww, other than some of the people will real hardware issues. The board works, I don't make as much money selling them as the other companies, but I personally enjoy the styles and sounds that for me are the best for what I use them for.

I play tons of latin and italian music, so the ketron is the only way to go for that certain sound.

I have many times offered Ketron my services as a liaison between the factory, tech, customers. But I have gotten no answers.

So I can only do what I can for now, too bad because i really enjoy the product

Frank,

That appears to be the general consensus of opinion about Ketron they are not interested in what anyone thinks or says, about the product or themselves they are in fact way above us. There is no outside Italy parallel that I have ever seen like Ketron, any company in the UK that behaved like Ketron would be out of business, Ketron are certainly not concerned about Frank, Franks problems or Franks customers problems, if they were then there would be no problems.

Until they can show SUPPORT after the sale, people will shy away and look elsewhere...

Live drums vs peoples hard earned Money? .....

I guess you know the answer.

Who, in their right mind, is going to shell out for an Audya for a pro gig, knowing that if it fails for any reason, you are screwed! No-one can afford a backup Audya, no-one but a tiny, tiny fraction of players lives anywhere NEAR a dealer, and no dealer is going to loan out a new Audya to cover a working musician when they have no idea how many weeks or months it is going to take Ketron to reply to the issue and send replacement parts... especially on the pitiful margin they make on it.

Musically, it MIGHT be the best arranger out there. But there's a LOT more to what you want from an arranger than just the music. Reliability, ease of repair, availability of replacement, nearness of dealers, responsiveness of communication with the tech support and repair depts., many of these things are JUST as important as sound to a WORKING player...

Leezone Lionstracs are using USB3 WOOOOW and you want a Ketron running on USB1, are you OK!

if LIONSTRACS arranger & styles sounded as good as Ketrons i'd buy one RIGHT NOW, i mean it's way cheaper than AUDYA, and it's hardware is WAY, WAY better

i don't have time to create the styles, etc,

this keyboard looks promising, but i'm afraid OTB it will not give me what i need

if, if, if, if there were kick ass styles, real drums, real audio guitars , this keyboard would be THE ultimate arranger/worksation,

maybe Ketron should buy LIONSTRACS or vice-versa !!!

combine the best of both worlds and everyone will be happy !!!

Leezone,

Listen to Dnj he is the only one talking sense round here, you wait I am sure something has got to be brewing with the big three, save your money or you will end up like me and Skude. KBs always in bits on the floor.

I don't know if I'd take it to the gig, Lee, depends on how unreliable the Audya turns out to be, but I sure wouldn't sell it, which probably means a few more months of waiting while you save more money...

BTW, anybody in their right minds willing to trade good sounding styles OOTB for a faster USB bus?

Didn't think so...

Depends on your needs. I don't need a car that will go from 0 to 85 in four seconds; I need a car that will go from 85 to 55 in one second.

Ketron and time schedules are obviously a perfect match!

Next Frankfurt Musikmesse at spring 2011 maybe?

You know Diki we don't always see eye to eye but on this occasion there is not one word of this that I could take offense at or question, and if Leezone would read it all carefully he would keep what he has got! Read all Skude's mail and then make your decision buy or not to buy the Audya, his support is pitiful and pathetic and he still has not got a working KB after one year, I have only gone through 1/10th of what Skude has and fortunately my Audya is OK now. It is my 3rd Audya. Btw July for the new sounds and styles, I still have reservations that it will be sometime after, I think they want to release the new products with the new sounds and styles before they let Audya owners have them. I have also come to the conclusion that Ketron must be a cash rich company, the new products were demonstrated nearly 8 weeks ago and not one on sale yet.

Tony

Thing is, Tony, those exact same reservations apply to the MS as well. No dealer network (admittedly, Dom is WAY more responsive than Ketron about service issues, but even so, many emails to him from many different people here have mysteriously got 'spam filtered' - I use that excuse myself from time to time!), no chance of a prompt replacement unit for the working player, probably no local users to borrow a friend's in the event of a breakdown... And a price WAY too high to consider buying two.

Be careful what you wish for...

No I have to admit you both have valid points, you will not find one person on SZ that is waiting for parts from the big three, to make a KB work. Others have to grovelfor spare parts, who then has to put them in the KB , loaded up all the ROM put the lid back on and keep his fingers crossed and if it does work sell it and run like hell. What a state to get in. But as some will say it's the best sounding KB in the World, is the price worth it. How do we get in this state.

Don,

If you lost your dog, went to report it lost, and started to describe it, one ear, one eye, only part of a tail, only three legs, what do you call it sir said the officer, "Lucky", says Don.
