Riverside County, CA. I'm currently using a JV880 with the Rich Sound Collection 2 card and a JV1080 with Session, Orchestral 2, Hip Hop, and World boards plus the Contemporary Composer card. Great units that work well with my Korg,Emu and Alesis synths.
I am a beginner in the synth scene, I use an [or try to] an XP50. Although I am still trying to figure out the damn thing, I am pretty excited over the potential this synth has.
The Pop/Rock board came with the machine. As I discover more [How to's], I will post them on the board for the benefit of other's.
Hello - I've got an XP-30 with Keyboards of the 60's and 70's expansion card. It sounds really really good. I love the Rhodes and the Mellotron - takes me back to Zeppelin days, among others.......
Hello This is my first week in this forum and my Second month with a synth.
XP-30 is what I got, and a midiman audiophile soundcard (for PC/MAC) too record my finished work, and it really helps. I just don't got any finished work yet.
I've got Cubase and Finale 2001 and Cool Edit, to edit and mix with. If you guys whant to give me tips please post in my Topic in this forum.
I was testing out the xv-88 at sam ash the other day using the piano setting (seq: pop(?)) and the highest keys sounded really cheesy/electric; I thought xv-88 is the synth with the best acoustic piano sounds(?) Was it just the store keyboard/headphones that made it sound weird or are all the xv-88's like that? Also the weird sounds are amplified especially when the sustain pedal is pressed. someone let me know what they think...I want a synth that also has good piano sounds and expandability.
