Do you think this should be the FIFA Official World Cup song for 2010 in South Africa?

If yes, show your support. Your input is also welcomed.

If no, your input as to why would be welcomed too (we learn as we go forward) along with your support.

What keyboard was 95% of this entire song Arranged and Played on (guess)?

Thanks,

AJ

I'm all for it. It's a catchy tune.

"music arrangement/programming + production:
Ajua "AJ" Alemanji - Cameroon
(Yamaha, Ketron, Petit Pays, Rosy Bush)"

So my guess is Ketron Audya.

I had a wager on Portugal to win the World Cup some months ago after seeing them on TV.
If they win , I will donate my winnings to whatever charity you recommend.

Meh. The song's okay but I still like the K'naan song better.

Fearless prediction for the cup: Argentina.

OVerhere in Holland Johan Cruijf once said..

a soccer match takes 2 times 45 minutes and in the end the Germans allways win.

I think its that time of the year again. I predict a German win.

Nice Try,leezone but I would rather you ,OR I, donate it to a T3!

Good luck to both Portugal and England.
If England win the title, I still get a tidy sum for disposal

eddie,

i tried the T3 next to AUDYA on a real PA, hated it for its styles and overall sound

what the T3 has that's great are their super voices, RH, but for that i'll use my VST's

good luck with your T3 and good luck to your team

go PORTUGAL !!!

It's only been 44 years since England won it all... SURELY it's about time for another..?!

How about England vs. USA in the first round? Anyone want to talk smack over here (in the US) about that game?

What worries me there, Diki, is that only a smattering will want to talk smack on the game. A few may point to that freaky U.S. win over England over half a century ago and a few more may brashly predict a repeat this time around. There's probably more basis for that these days as football has come a long way stateside, notwithstanding the number of American players giving a good account of themselves in the English Premier League; but, let's get real here, England will be in the running when it comes down to the final stages. The U.S.? Well, to use an anglo-saxon euphemism, bollocks.

The best team that never won the world cup despite several good efforts since 1974 are the dutch.

Again they have some of the best players in the world... Robben, vd Vaart, Schneider, v Perzie, v. Bommel and such. if the coach can build a good team around those then they might actually win.

I miss Cruyff. I put him at the top of the greatest. Dutch football was beautiful to watch.

Dutch football is still beautifull to watch.

FC Barcelona and Bayern Mnchen play a game mostly based on the ideas of Johan Cruijf, so will and should the dutch team at the worldcup.

Let's be fair, 124... USA did pretty well at the last World Cup. But unless there's a big upset with Algeria or Slovenia, both should easily get past the first round. Be interesting to see how far they get again...

Sorry Diki

Slovenia has one of the best teams in Europe right now. They actually could be the biggest surprise of the Worldcup.

Algeria plays on African home soil.

Nothing is ever certain, but USA could just as well be the poule winner as end death last in the group

Absolutely, Diki. That was my point in saying that the U.S. has come a long way in football. They're not the pushover of years past. But I stick by my guns in saying that England will be there or thereabouts when it comes down to the final stages. For one thing, the U.S. have three untried strikers in the squad, and why Brad Friedel was passed over in the goal in beyond my ken.

BTW: I like Dutch football and I hope they do very well, this time around. For all of the above though, I'm still thinking Argentina for the big one.

Just for the sheer beauty of it, I'm hoping that Spain has as great a midfield as they had the last World Cup. Sadly, they lacked a great closer, but their midfield precision and pinpoint passing was one of the highlights for me to watch last time... They are picked highly to go all the way this time, I hope it is with as great a grace as they had last time. But I'm, of course, rooting for England. Why NOT us, why NOT now?!

I'm afraid the odds-makers have Slovenia as third in the first round. I hope they are wrong for your sake, Bachus, but only at the US's expense, anyway! And Algeria are FAR further away from their home country than for instance England playing in France, and NO-ONE would ever claim that England were playing on 'home soil'...! Opposite ends of a gigantic continent hardly qualifies as home turf

With Xavi and Cesc Fabregas out, Spain are missing a couple of key components in midfield. Up front, David Villa will be doing his thing, no doubt, but with Fernando Torres missing, they're not going to be the attacking force they otherwise might be.

England? Nothing would please me more than to see us lift it, but (there's another 'but' ) they seem to have been less than impressive in the friendlies. Two own goals to get a win against Japan? And I still worry about Calamity James in goal.

Just a quick thought: Most folks talking football in this thread seem to be from outside of the U.S., even though a healthy number of SZ members are Americans. Come on, you chaps, you don't have a half bad team, you know.

You can break away from the NBA, AL, NL, and NHL for a few weeks, can't you?

...that's exactly the reason why I favour Walcott.
He is a natural successor to David Beckham who taught the world of football how to "bend it" and it has been the source of many spectacular goals ever since.
In my own playing days (many years ago!) I was a natural right winger .
The thrill of supplying the passes from the wing were my greatest pleasure.

Most Americans are uncomfortable with any programming that MAKES them not see any commercials for at least 45 minutes! If they get removed from the tit of commercialism for too long, they might have to look around and see what a mess it has made of things...

Imagine not being told what to eat, what to wear, what to drink, what to think...

The horror! The horror...!

Too bad about the Flyers. I was sort of rooting for them, even though Pronger wasn't much in favour in this neck of the woods.

Anyway, back on topic. I know it's tradition and all that, but those freakin' vuvuzela horns are almost making the TV coverage unwatchable. If I were there, I think I'd be packing a bottle of Tylenol to the games.

BTW, it's England v USA tomorrow. Any thoughts?

I agree with you about the flamin' horns

They are totally spoiling the watching on TV.

I have to turn off the sound and just watch a silent game...

As for the USA v England game today, I fear that this will be a nailbiter for all fans.

Rooney has openly said that he prefers to play as a single striker up front..but Capello has stuck Heskey with him...they will negate each other's play.
As for USA, they will eventually win the World Cup, maybe not this year but don't hold your breath!

Heskey is a liability, and why England keep playing Carragher is a mystery to me. Isn't there a better alternative? Still, Joe Hart I like a lot better than James, and I go for a 3-1 England win today.

Yes, I like Heskey also.
But I think that he is better used when his strong tackles get possession and progress towards goal, therefore I would prefer him on the half back line with a strolling forward permission.

I would like to think that your score forecast is correct but I am worried about the lack of shooting for goal from England.

I forecast a narrow 1-0 for either side................and but for that unfortunate fumble from Green that would have been a correct forecast!
Not too worried, though. england are notorious slow starters

It appears for once, a nation that has never won the World Cup before might just win it this time in South Africa .... a lot of 'firsts' from first-time teams and the more experienced ones seem to be resting on their ... history - including 6 time champion BRAZIL!!

.... and the best consistant team won. The finals wasn't the best game of the world cup (from my point of view), but Spain did put up the best performance.

Thanks,

AJ

Thast because the dutch got yellow carted out of the match, they could bareley move or they'd get a yellow card.

The only way to win from Spain is by playing agressive forechecking, well that way of play was killed by Howard Webb.

Get real Bachus, I am Dutch too, but ours were a disgrace yesterday. As a matter of fact I have not seen any game of the Dutch during this Wordl Cup that was a joy to watch. They were slow, rough and without any imagination with the sole exception of Robben. The composition of the team was unbalanced from the start, van Persie was in the wrong position apart from being hopelessly out of shape, van Bommel and de Jong fit Italian cattenaccio football, not creative Dutch total football.
We best forget all about this team and this Championship which was very bleak overall with very little soccer worth watching.
On behalf of any true soccer fan I apologize for the Dutch performances. I (and you) know we can do so much better............

John

Silly man...

The dutch where focussed to win....

Louis van Gaal allready described that this would happen in an interview 20 minutes before the match...

The only real hard foul was from de Jong which indeed deserved a red card even if he was trying to go for the ball. But all those so called fouls where harmlesly and only the high quallity spannish acting made the fool named Webb give yellow card after Yellow card. While spanish fouls where never punished with a yellow card.

Both Iniesta and Puyol should have been rewarded with a diract red card. The goal of spain was offside..

While spain actually seemed to have the upperhand, the dutch got the best chances in the orriginal 90 minutes.

I would have loved to see the game with another refferee. One that understands football.

Most important of this world cup is the feeling of unity it created in Holland, espescially the lost final... One in victory and one in sorrow, but proud to be dutch we are... And our new ennemy is Howard Webb. Which is much better for our country and the feeling of unity then declaring our players to be loosers.

Dear Bachus,

YOu are living proof of how much the Dutch here misinterpret their own game and their arrogance. Try and read the English, German, Italian and Spanish press, if you can. The entire world press faults the Dutch game and our famous Dutch total football has been harmed almost beyond repair.
YOur analysis of the game is as pathetic as the game itself and as the Dutch side....How you can be proud of that is totally beyond me....

I read the english press, and except for the tabloids they where pretty harsh about webbs performance...

And in Germany it was bild (not even e true newspaper) to try and bash the duthc in search for sensation..

So, yes i am proud at our dutch players for trying in every which way they could to get the worldcup only being stopped by a refferee

Bachus, no referee in any sport gets it right all of the time. You know that. Sometimes it goes for you, sometimes against. I know it's disappointing to lose (my own country, England, didn't get as far as your team, and on a bad call by the officials which may or may not have changed the outcome of the game - doesn't matter now, does it) but, as your countryman John does, at least have some grace in losing. You really are sounding like a whiner here. Your team lost because they were beaten by the better team. That simple.

Oh Dear....Bachus...

Your heart has ruled your head!
You did not see the match that everyone else saw, I'm afraid..

I wanted Holland to win but I would have been horrified to have had my wish....Holland were the angriest, most barbaric team I have ever seen and I was sickened to my bones just watching the thugs.
What a great relief when the final whistle went and the best team in the tournament were the rightful winners of the title.

I can only praise Howard Webb for not sending off more of the dutch team.

Hopefully that is now the end of this topic for another four years. OH NO! I forgot we have the European championships in ONLY two years time. I can only hope that it produces better football than most of the matches I saw in this year's effort. AND somebody PLEASE ban those ghastly plastic apologies for musical instruments!!!!! Even Rolf Harris's Stylophone was better than them. UGH!!!!!!
