I was looking at a Yamaha, but when I revved it up, it sounded too 'processed' .

Sorry Ian, I just couldn't resist.

Silly question for bikers, Tony. Yep, they're called 'pipes' . As for riding safe, don't worry. With a replacement hip, I'm VERY careful. Besides, although torque-y, it has a very modest top end. Did I mention that I got my first Harley '74' when I was 16 or 17? and I've owned @ 18 bikes since then. I also have an electric moped, a gas moped, and a Honda Elite scooter. My next 'bike' will probably be from 'The Scooter Store', but only if Medicare approves it .

PS: Actually, what I really want (at my age) is a Can-Am Spyder, but at 23,000, it may have to wait until after my wife passes (oh, shut up, that was a joke) .

Ooohh wow chas.
Man that's beautiful. I'd love to take that for a good spin myself.

My first bit of freedom was a Honda 50 at the age of 17 and I went through a few bikes until I got my first car. It's just not the same though, the freedom you have on a bike... oh man... I miss those days.

Hey... Enjoy that beautiful machine.

Regards
James

Settle down James we don't want you getting any daft ideas until you have finished MS, no early departure for you my lad! You stick to 4 wheels, far steadier at your age.

Cheers keep smiling

lol.... It's not a bike that would kill me, it's my darling wife if I turned up on a bike. She doesn't have fond memories like I do. Back when we were dating I crashed with her on the back at 60 miles and hour. I went one way on my ass, she went another with the bike on top of her. Nobody seriously hurt though. Just extremely sore for a few weeks.

Generally speaking bikes are very safe. It's the idiots driving the cars that you need to worry about. That's how most people on bikes get hurt.

Cheers
James
