Grapevine says...

Tyros4 will have USB3 (which is 20 times faster than USB 2) and HD-Midi,( high definition midi protocol) that would provide greater resolution in data values, increase the number of MIDI channels, and support the creation of entirely new kinds of MIDI messages.

No word on the number of keys, or any other details.

Well what do you know...as soon as I saw Donny's post, I emailed him and said you'd be the first to respond, and mention the drums.

Just where have you heard a Tyros4 in order to form that opinion?

Well, Lee, Donny has his sources.

I would have thought you would want to actually listen to an instrument before passing judgement.

Why do nearly all topics on this forum end up as an argument with the same names cropping up over and over again. It's not even worth looking at now.

Alan,

What makes you think there is an argument going on here?

It's just the usual SZ discussion and/or question and answer.

I would think a $4500+ TOTL keyboard would strive to have the latest in technology, but USB3 and HDMidi??? Maybe for studio freaks...

I can't name the features I'd like to see, but there are many improvements available in the vocalizer and mic section, including more dedicated knobs and buttons. What about a 73-key option - an extra octave would make the TOTL really stand out. Real drawbars/controllers ala Roland G70/E80, etc...

That being said, I can't afford a $4000 arranger, so I will have to wait even a few more years for a trickle down MOTL board.

Just a thought here, 4 of the busiest pros I know that visit the forum use Yamaha boards. I gotta believe that the audiences are happy with what they hear these pros playing canned durms or not.

TravlinEasy PSR 3000
DNJ s910
Scott Yee Tyros 2
Bill From Dayton Tyros 2

I know another busy guy Zuki who uses the PA800 ( a great board too!)

I'm with Cass and improved vocal harmonizer would be a real plus.
