I had a couple issues with both 800 boards (yellow screen blotches - liquid crystals popping from cells). One board was under warranty, the other not (although newer).

KorgUSA took care of both boards for me at their expense. I have to say this is customer service at its finest. Try that with another brand

Jim , you are aware the display problems are because of bad parts....just like the Roland EM2000....You can be sure there will be 100 percent failure eventually...

Does this affect the PAx2 or just the 800?

I have to say the Korg USA is actually very good. I have a problem with a mother board on ix300 that was out of warrantee and they fixed it at no cost to me. They had to wait for Japan to send them a replacement board which took a little longer than expected, so they picked up the tab due to the extra wait time.

did you ship the unit to Korg for the repair?

I was a big Korg user since the 70's 80's....but until they change their "Folder" OS PA series style of doing things I can't embrace them anymore...just too many steps to navigate & edit...I hope they make some changes...KORG has so many pluses going for them.

no, it went to a service rep in NYC after a couple weeks, they shipped it to korg usa so that they can fix it since the entire mother board went bad. I was told it was a complicated fix and korg could handle it better.

It could ...of been possible to just take it to Long Island and drop it off at KORG...might of been done faster?

DNJ,
Have you actually cheked out in detail the song book function on the Pa800/PA2XPO?
It is super powerful for gigging..virtally every setting is saved in the song book entry. Maybe it's just what you used too..but I love the PA OS...very powerful and very easy to use.

Lee I have gigged with the i3/i30/Pa80/Pa60/Pa800 and yes I have used all the functions including the songbook...but it doesn't compare to the ease on stage of the New Yamaha arrangers for my needs....that's why I sold them all...and returned to Yamaha.
The Korg Folder system is ancient and needs to be redesigned IMO.Live play navigation is imperative on stage, although Korg does have many attributes certain things like this keep me away. I still await an arranger KB that can play separate modes on board "simultaneously", Styles, Smf, Mp3, Sfx, with seperate slider controls for each.....to date only the Midjay Module can do this. For now combined with a laptop the S910 fills most, but in no way "All" of my needs in the trenches performing on stage to date......we'll see what the future brings..I keep an open mind.
