Eddie,

You managed to make me blush at the tender age of 58 !!!
Thank you for your compliments on my homemade CD. Incidentally,Don (Mason) is quite familiar with my repertoire I think, but thanks all the same.AS I mentioned in the file (transferred by WETRANSFER.com) I recorded all this with the Korg PA50 in my livingroom in 2005. I was not entirely truthful in stating that it was recorded solely with the PA-50, because the righthand acoustic piano sound here and there came from the very old Roland E70 keyboard.
Meanwhile I have replaced the Korg by the Korg PA-500 and not to lose the great E70 acoustic piano sound I replaced this keyboard by a second-hand Ketron SD2 module and I must say the combination is a winner, both sound/style wise, and also as regards what you get for a budget price........
I know that some of the backing vocals etc. are slightly out of sync at times but to me that is one of the charms really. I do not like working with vocalisers etc.
No I have not yet heard the songs that you mentioned recorded by you just tell me where to find them and I will be pleased to.
As to your ABBA query I am afraid I haven't got a clue, nevermind.
Koudekerke is virtually on the seaside near Vlissingen and therefor on the other side of HOlland as compared to Venlo.
Nevertheless you will be very welcome should you venture out to Holland again someday !!

And let us not forget that this thread was about the easy comforts of mailing large files to fellow musicians. Anyone wanting my 2005 CD is still welcome to it by requesting a copy : pasounds@zeelandnet.nl
Some of the songs on it , and others, can also be viewed on YouTube if you search under my alias : matseims.

kind regards,
John Smies

Not very impressed with the 'wetransfer' thing. I started sending 1.4 gig of photo files last night at around 8:30 and by 7:45 this morning only 13% of the files had been processed. Too slow. Gonzo.

Hi 124
Looks as if you had a problem with the connection from your PC (or laptop)! It has happened to me occasionally but not for a long time now.could have been heavy traffic or similar.
I think you perhaps could give it another try?

John and Bebop and myself have had fantastic experiences.....would anyone else like to try the use of wetransfer just to confirm the aforementioned.?

cheers

@ John
there was no need to blush! Your CD was first class.
As for my own songs, I am past blushing now, but my fear some years ago was letting others hear my attempts. I admit to some fear of putting them on open sites at first but life is too short to worry about that! I have 20 years more enjoyment than yourself

Sorry about the confusion when I mentioned the ABBA thing. I now know that the guy involved came from another village.
Your town I found in my Holland Map and it looks to be almost on an island in the north.
Looks a nice area to holiday!

As for my website, you will find the songs I put out at www.music2myears.plus.com/MUSIC-TIME.htm
and perhaps you could have a listen? I have had lots of remarks about them already (and I STILL sing inspite of them)....

P.S. Have a listen to the item at the bottom of the page on the left ..it plays only on Realplayer......
cheers
Eddie

I was able to download the 90 mb in a reasonable amount of time. A couple of years ago my former internet/cable tv provider Cox Communications provided me with a free subscription to Carbonite

I had 40 gigs of data set to back up, about a week later all files were finally backed up.

I just got an email from "You Send It", and they advised me that I can now send 2 gig on their program also however i will have to pay 49.99 per year for the pro version.
I will continue to use the "We Transfer program".

Hi Fran,

Enlighten me, what has WETRANSFER got to do with Skype and sending over large files ?
I am on Skype, and for sending large files I use WETRANSFER ?
Personally I think this free site is absolutely fantastic for us to transfer large files of music and music data.

kind regards,

Hi John, I mentioned Skype because it works great for sending and receiving files..I have found no limitation to size...It is simple drag and drop...and you can video call the party you are communicating with...so how cool is that...I have Skype on 24/7..When someone wants to send me a message or file...a pop up window notifies me and I accept or decline....

It was only an alternative to what you suggested..

My transfer page on my website is also a great feature for maintaining a download for all to download...
