Being a former Yamaha Tyros 2 player, the transition to Audya has been nothing short of a nightmare. An example is the registration system – what would require ten different buttons presses on the Audya can be programmed to only ONE button press on a Yamaha keybord! How am I supposed to press 10 different buttons in the same time while playing?

My point is, it does not help much with great sounds if it’s not possible to operate the machine properly. Add to this the general unstableness of the entire board, its still full of errors.

But hey, maybe I just belong to that 1% who is inclined to throw the damn thing in the dumpster and go buy a Tyros 3 instead. It may not sound nearly as good but at least the s… works.

Morten....dont worry TYROS 4 is coming soon
The other day I mentally slipped into maybe trying the Audya again 61 version....but later that day after a stage performance with my Yamaha S910 I quickly snapped out of it and knew Yamaha "at this time" is a perfect fit for me.....I also was never enamoured with the Ketron OS but I made it work best I could with my X1/SD1/X9/Midjay/ & your so right there is much more to a happy marriage then just the "SO CALLED" sounds & styles....Audya is a fine instrument but it isn't for "everyone" at all.

I am well aware of the capabilities, or lack thereof, in the Audya OS. I too find the registration system easy to use, but it is still very limited and therefore useless - it should be much more complex.
E.g. where do I save my intros, endings, fills or breaks? Nowhere, because it is not possible on the Audya – but yet possible on old Yamaha organs from the 80’ties. Come on, these are such simple features, which should definitely be present in a professional arranger with a 6000$ price tag.

Bottom line, I think it’s a shame with these features missing – had they been there, it would be an absolutely killer arranger.

Thank you Dnj.

Just to eliminate any doubts, the demos are in fact performed on the Tyros2 not the Audya.

I don't really understand you issue here.
If you are so much in love with the Tyros 2 or that 1980 Yamaha organ, why do you have an Audya ?
Look like to me that you are going to be un-happy until you have you Tyros or the 1980 organ back.

I agree that the Tyros 2 is a great keyboard, but as far as registrations I like the Ketron or Korg approach better.

Morten,

don't worry..
after hearing your demos,
there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt that those are Tyros Drums,
and NOT AUDYA's... otherwise...
well you know... they would sound like an actual drummer

There are some functions which other manufacturer's keybaord stores which AUDYA doesn't for now (e.g Intro, Fills and Endings). On the other hand, there are also some functions which AUDYA stores which other manufacturer's don't for now ... e.g more than 1 style within a Register, or a Play list of audio (Mp3 and wave) or/and Midi files ... all within the same register.

Just wanted to say ... they're different with each having it's own edge.
