Just clearing out some old files on my server and I came across these I had recorded. Some of which are very old but still sound ok. http://www.irishacts.com/movies/
The “Forrest Gump” tune I played on a KORG OASYS.
The following are all played on a KORG Triton Studio An American Tale Star Trek Superman The Great Escape.
And Star Wars is the most recent file, thats played on a Ketron SD2.
Thanks. Yes, all stock sounds used. One of these days I'll sit down and do all those again only with my OASYS and Meidastation. Some of them are very old and things have moved on sound wise quite a lot since then. My own ability too probably.
This mix on the start trek tune is way off for example.

James,
Was I surprised when I read the above. I thought I was listening to an Oasys. I didn't know the Ketron sounded THAT good.
The orchestration was brilliant. I was very impressed. Did you arrange the whole thing or were you supplementing a MIDI file? How did you learn to orchestrate like that?

Yeah, it's a great little sound module.

Thanks. It's just some midi file I pulled off the net and altered though. Most midi files can be made to sound like that if you know what to do. Once you strip away all traces of GM and remap and mix everything, well... the end results are always better.
I don't know what you think 'playing' and 'recording' is, but in my humble view they are just ordinary MIDI (SMF) files with not a single key stroke of a keyboardist added.
You disappoint me!

Hi kla4. No worries, everyone is welcome to their opinion. Thanks for listening.

It still takes a "musical mind" to orchestrate it with sounds that fit together. I admire people who can "orchestrate." I'm still amazed at how they worked that French Horn into My Way (Sinatra)!
