This has never happened to me before. Can anyone tell me what might be
the problem?

When playing a midi file it just stopped as if paused (but it wasn't)
and after a little wait crashed back on again in a clashing of notes
that continued a bit or just abruptly ended. This happened a couple
more times and I was panicking. I noticed when one continued on that
the syncing of the beats was off to the melody that was still playing
when in started up again.
Then it was fine for awhile then it happened again and it brought up a
msg saying I/O Error

Do you have any idea what could have happened? It then didn't give me
any more trouble for the night.

I'm scared to death it's going to do this on a regular basis. With all
the gigs I have it'd be an absolute disaster. If you think you know
what it is and how it could be fixed, please let me know.

Did you try playing the same Midi file again to see if it reoccurred, as if it did then it is a corrupt (Damaged) Midi file, and should be removed and replaced with a new one.
I/O is short for IN/OUT (Load/Save etc) error, which would also indicate a corrupt Midi file.
Hope this helps

I did, but the second time around it did it again in a different spot.

Then another song did fine. and another, and then the third one it happened again.

Then 5 songs no problem, and then once more and then it gave that I/O message for the first time. Then no more after that. All of the files that screwed up before played fine again. It's a mystery? But a very scary one....

Hey
Maybe you should open the keyboard and check the connectors. Is very posiblle to get a little out from transport or vibration. Also check the clock in and out midi status. It should be off, deactivated.
Maybe reinstaling the OS,should also help.

In midi menu...F6 MIDI , than F9 Clock soft thru, both clock in and out should be on off(no star)...check manual page 105-107
Hope it helps,

But I'm pretty sure is a matter of bad connection somewhere.
Hope it helps,

Shit. I thought it was gone, but it happened again.
I did the "repair" function the other day, and it didn't happen again, but it must have been coincidence.

Could it be the hard drive or the hard drive controller?

Really? Maybe that's what I'll try then. Can you give me a clue where the hard drive is? facing the keyboard as if you're playing it, is it in the left, middle or right section above the keys?
