Hi Don

After re-reading your post, I'm puzzled by this statement;

"Bottom line: I think so much of the Audya 4 that I ordered a Yamaha Tyros 4 from our good friend Frankieve. Actually the “WARDEN”, (my dear sweet and beautiful wife Emma Lee) allowed this. Although she assures me that I cannot keep them both. "

If you think so much of the Audya 4, why would even consider the Tyros 4??? I don't get it?

Maybe a bit of "tongue in cheek" working here Al. I do like the Audya 4 as stated above and I'm finding out more about it every day. But,there are things I like about Yamaha.

Ease of use
Music Finder
OTS
Lead voices

Since both units are coming out at about the same time, why not have a serious look at both. Unfortunately, the only way for me to do this is to buy them. There are no dealers within hundreds of miles of me that carry either.

I am more familiar with Yamaha, and had the T4 been introduced first it would probably have been the one I bought.

I seriously considered buying the T3 instead of the Audya, before I ever heard of the T4.

Thanks for the info Don. I’ve been reading your posts and other related posts with great interest. If you go with the T-4, will you be using it as an expander? For sometime, I used arranger boards as expanders so that I would have a board available for gigs that called for keyboard only. But, now the expanders offer so much that I would/should consider just using an arranger module with a keyboard controller and eliminate the need for the extra arranger board and the weight and bulk etc. So, I’m interested in hearing how you go and why – T-4 or Audya 4. I’ve tried Yammies and I really wanted to like the Yamaha boards because the OS seems easy to use and the user support is unsurpassed. But I’ve always felt that the Yamaha styles were a bit over produced for my taste … And, I quickly took to the Ketron drums etc. Even for keyboard gigs, I now use the Midjay Plus with the Korg PA800 because I so like the Ketron accompaniment.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you decide.
Ciao,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

If I decide on the T4 I will use it as an expander for the accordion. I hardly ever play just keyboard unless I'm trying to learn a new song.

Yes, I agree that some Yamaha styles are over done, however, in some cases the Audya styles could us a little more; IMO.

I think coming from the Midjay as you are you would naturally love the Audya 4. Of course, if you need a keyboard some of the time you may want to consider the Audya 5. It seems to me that if you have the module then you have to have a controler board, +
the accordion, just more "crap" to carry!

I've always had good luck with Yamaha OS. Never had any problems getting the accordion to work properly. T4 should be here shortly so I'll let you know.

Yo Don,
I especially like the size, weight, footprint of the Midjay Plus, that's why I am tentitive about the Audya 4 at twice the size and weight (and price). As far as keyboard gigs go, I could use a controller board. What I also do with the Korg is make sequences. I did not notice the mention of a sequencer in the Audya 4 features' list. Did I miss it in the description - Does the Audya 4 have a sequencer? If not, I would be especially hesitant about getting an A-4 although there are many other features that I would like to have. There are many more questions and I'd like to demo one in the near future.
Ciao,
Jerry
