I use WD-40 on any part of it that moves, including the "sleeves" in the bed.

I wish there were a way to leave everything on the cart all the time. It takes about as much time to stack it from the car, unstack it inside, then reverse the process as it does just to carry it in, especially with today's lightweight gear.
I suppose you could do it with a van with a ramp or lift, but that really would be overkill.

If one were gigging regularly, as in several days a week, I'm not sure it would be overkill. We've all had this same thought. Our friend, Dickie T, said he is going to do it, including a power winch to get it in the van.

I lubed mine with silicone grease that I use for fishing reels--it works just fine. And, I've only had to lube it once since I purchased it more than 5 years ago.

As for creating a performance cart, a couple guys have done this using the R-10 and R-12. Essentially, everything was anchored in place using Industrial Strength Velcro and bungee cords. In each case that I'm familiar with, the speakers were placed on each side of the cart, while the keyboard was placed on a top shelf. The rigs were moved in and out of vans fitted with hydraulic lifts for wheelchairs.

Some of the guys were quite creative and covered the front of the keyboard and everything beneath it with a sign made of plastic-coated fabric and professionally lettered. The sign doubled as a cover while the rig was stored in the van, and also served as protection on rainy days.

That's all well & good ...you need a full size van, ramp....and when a stage or steps come into the picture your finished! &
IMO it looks hokey too...every time you get frustrated about setups or breakdown just think .....

I met a fellow once who was doing two senior places a day/365 days a year. When I asked him "how?" he showed me his van. He had a "handicap" platform attached in the back that he would wheel the cart onto, raise it, and then push the cart into the van. He kept his equipment all set up and ready to play on this cart. No setup, no breakdown. Just go in and do the job. Come out, roll it back into your vehicle, and in 30 seconds you're on the road...fresh as a daisy.
