I'm referring, of course, to the rescue of the trapped Chilean miners. One of the things most talked about was the amazing camaraderie among the trapped miners and how that helped to sustain them through their ordeal. I'm trying to imagine a scenario where you had 33 Synthzoners trapped in a small room for 69 days; you know, Diki, Ian, TTG, Fran, Scottyee, Miden, DONNY, ......... Now THAT would have made great TV. Perhaps with Nigel, Russ, DonM, and Rikki, a few may have made it out alive , but 69 days? I don't know.

BTW, I'm feeling a tad better (well not really) and it looks like I will be having additional surgery, but I'm hopeful. My SINCERE thanks to all who expressed their concern and good wishes. A special thanks to Deanne (Hammer) and Ian, for their comforting emails and of course to Capt. Russ, who has been watching over me like a guardian angel and to my friend Taike, who just quietly goes about doing a lot of good work that most of you may not be aware of.

There is something very humbling about a spot of bad health. I hope I emerge from this a better person.

Hi Chas,

Good to see you posting.

I have a slight idea what you're going through, having had three major surgeries in less than two years.

It takes us longer to recover as we age...hey, not that you're old or anything. Ha ha.

Get well soon, my friend...I miss your sardonic humor.

Ian

That's it! All the miners are up and out of the ground and safe.

Good luck in your own recovery, chas.

Good to have you back, Chas!

I hope you emerge from this as the same person you were before. Any better than that and we'd have to call you Saint Chas!

They would have drilled a shaft and and poured in concrete.

Glad to hear from you Chas. Hang in there!
I had a stress test today as follow up to heart stint in Feb. Dr. says it looks good but I'm waiting for the film to develop to know for sure. It's minor to what you've gone through.

Hang tough, Dude. I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN PLAYING A CERTAIN VAN MORRISON SONG anytime soon!

I LOVE Van Morrison songs. This is a personal reference to a serious discussion between Chas and I and certainly not a slam on the music of one of my favorites.

My great friend Chas is in rough shape, and still he has time to celebrate the safety of the trapped miners.

And that says volumes about he man I'm proud to know.

Hi Chas,
for those miners to be able to survive those first 17 days without contact to the outside world, is the scariest part. Not knowing if you'd ever be rescued.

Unfortunately, sometimes, it just takes a bit longer to get well, than one would hope.
Hope you genuinely feel better soon.

best wishes
Rikki

Just got a short message from Chas. Still in rough shape-going to other Dr.'s trying to figure out what's up.

Man, I wish things would improve.
