Listening to the R&B bank.....with those Gospel singers.......now how many times can you ever use those intros/ending in songs before they become so hokey...maybe once?
I also see some of the styles are the same as the S910/T3 also?

I'm quite pleased with what I'm hearing, especially since styles are easily re-voiced, and the whole of the Tyros3 on-board styles will work in the Tyros4 as well.

I'm looking forward more and more to getting this instrument and spending some quality time with it.

I think I'll have some fun with those Gospel singers as will my audiences.

Just listened to the Swing/Jazz demo. There are some great intos/endings, BUT, I would much rather hear at least one variation, otherwise these samples are not worth much, Why? I remember I used to try to hook a tune with a great intro only to find out the variations sucked

Interesting to note that after a major announcement from Yamaha MusicSoft some time ago I made about the same comment and a bit later found the new styles including variations. don't know if it's still like that, but either way, great intros and endings do not always mean you're going to have variations that will work for you.

I always listen to the variations first and then see if the intro's make sense or not

Most of the recordings I made include a snippet of Variation A and Variation D.

Many intros/endings aren't generic,
they are "emulations" of real things: take for example the movie&show track, it has intros/endings very similar to well known themes, Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean, Superman, and the problem it arises is the following:

1) You want to play Star Trek theme, and can't use that intro since it has wrong notes.
2) You want to play a different song, but you can't use that intro since if you play it, just after the first phrases people thinks "hey he's copyng Star Trek!"

So they are fairly useless...

Last time I checked there were at least three intros per style, and by golly you can play your own intro and ending. And, if you think about it, you can also intro any style with any of the fills, or even the break.

And, if you don't like a particular style part, son-of-a-gun, you can turn it off and save the style changes to a registration, or better yet create a custom style.

Lots of options--all you gotta' do is use them.

Just having you as a staunch and persistent Yamaha supporter is wonderful enough...thanks Genny.

Donny has already told me he is more interested in the next generation S-series than a Tyros4.

Not sure I would use the Doot doots ,Would rather use live BG and the harmonizer and convert to Mp3 for live play. They sound far too synthetic.. The Oooohs and Ahss would pass muster though.

I think the point is not how many times can I use that in a night.....(How many times will you use ANY style in a performance? But the fact that it is even there and adds another color to your palette of opportunity. even if one one song. There are a lot of "new" songs that can be done using the new sounds....even if only once a night...or once on a CD.
