Stick a real Chord Sequencer in it, and I'll buy ANYTHING!

Yep, good point. Add a chord sequencer to my list as well.

I'd like to have one too.

Fran,
+1...absolutely.
What you described is a true PRO Arranger workstation.

Closest right now is PA2XPRO (IMHO, not just beacase I have one, G-70-yes, but gone). But it misses some of those items.

The problem is...most of the arranger buyers are not like us...thus Yamaha etc cater to the home player that does not want/need all that.

There needs to be 2 catagory of arrangers. The current one and 1 from the PRO division of Yamaha Korg, etc.

I'd rather hear arranger KB players actually PLAY....Not Converse...

What Fran described is also very much a high end home keyboard, much like Roland's VIMA...all the Karaoke features, and other goodies, that will compete with home theatre systems, and 3-D televisions.

Korg is one of the last hold-outs, and, there is no guarantee the next PA iteration will be even based on the PA2XPro...it may be an upgraded PA-800?

Making 2 arrangers, one "pro" and the other "home" may turn out to be more of a burden than a benefit.

Compared to digital pianos, workstations/synthesizers, organs (like the Nord C and Hammond XB-series), the 100% "pro" arranger market is quite tiny.

Only Ketron and Korg right now...next year, maybe neither.

C'mon, Ian... how could you POSSIBLY want a Chord Sequencer? Yamaha don't make one, which DEFINITIVELY proves there is no need for one at all...

Be careful, my friend. You would not want to upset the Yamaha zealots that find ANY request for a feature Yamaha don't have as an affront to their religion...

Best of luck PROVING to Yamaha that this is a needed feature. Let me know once you organize that pan-internet poll, and I'll sign my name to it, despite the obvious futility of it. Yamaha have seen what a great feature this is since it first came out on a Roland donkey's years ago... But obviously, it doesn't appeal to the One Finger Chord set, Yamaha's 'home keyboard' base, who would not benefit from its' ability to allow you to play better with BOTH hands... got to play well with ONE hand before this becomes a useful feature!

Oh, but I do, I do want a chord sequencer...however, I do not need a chord sequencer.

I remember the one on the old E-70...it was quite handy.

I want a 76 PSR. But I don't NEED it...

Doesn't stop the zealots from rejoicing that my WANTS are unfulfilled.

I can't believe you are reduced to playing semantics. You have really gotten desperate to score points, lately, haven't you? Mention Yamaha, Ian mentions Roland. Mention Yamaha, Ian mentions Ketron. Mention Yamaha, Ian mentions Korg. Heck, if I were desperate to distract my readers from REAL issues, that's what I'd do, too!

Anything... to get the poster off topic...!
