Hi Bebop,
bit off topic, but I thought I'd throw it in.
Are you a Band in a Box user at all?
I didn't use it much , even though I've had it since 1990, & I've always upgraded every couple of years or so.
When I got my new laptop I checked out some of the real track audio styles, I hadn't really been able to run them on my netbook. After hearing them I then decided to upgrade my BIAB.
http://www.pgmusic.com/winvideos.htm When you click on a number, a demo pops up.
I still prefer keyboards, but BIAB will give me the option of creating an mp3 backing track for songs that my PA800 lacks a style for.
To me , arranger keyboards sometimes don't have a great variety of Rock & Country styles, & even then, they sometimes don't always sound realistic.
I'm certainly no expert on either genre, but to me the BIAB real track versions , sound quite good. They use audio loops of real players. Some of the styles are a mix of audio & midi tracks.
best wishes
Rikki
