But this time indeed it delivered some troubles here. Kinda funny and weird that two people from two different sides of the planet can speak about weather as shared one.

I used to never answer the phone on snowy days because club owners always tried to cancel me - I've never been stuck or stranded in snow, and I figured if the bartender and chef had to come in, then I should have the same option! That was "then" ..... these days, I just make some tea, stay in my robe and watch the beautiful winter wonderland accumulate in my driveway! 124 Senior Member Registered: 01/01/09 Posts: 2195	Since weather reports have become part of this thread, I'll mention that we've just had 36 hours of non-stop snowfall (yes, about two feet, chas), the temperature has hovered around the -15C mark, and now we're in for a ten day cold snap. Highs around -25C, lows around -34C. Oh, and there'll be some windchill added to that. Just in case anyone asks, no I don't know what I'm doing here.

This forms a layer of ice that actually protects them from being killed by the cold. I think a similar procedure is done on fruit trees sometimes.
