Here in Russia we consider winter to be terrible when it's almost snowless (too warm). But this time indeed it delivered some troubles here.

Kinda funny and weird that two people from two different sides of the planet can speak about weather as shared one.

Kapinopus,
Welcome to the forum! It is amazing how people from around the world can form friendships here because of the common love for music and keyboards.
Weather is Louisiana, USA, was nearly 70F the past couple of days.

Nice and sunny without the usual humidity. Perfect weather!

I LOVE it ...... and I LOVE snow!
I used to never answer the phone on snowy days because club owners always tried to cancel me - I've never been stuck or stranded in snow, and I figured if the bartender and chef had to come in, then I should have the same option! That was "then" ..... these days, I just make some tea, stay in my robe and watch the beautiful winter wonderland accumulate in my driveway! I can always work tomorrow ... or the next day, right?

But, today in Louisiana, it's 28* and snow. Which does not happen often. We did have a big snow last year, though.

Vientiane's the capital of Laos, Scott. It's situated along the Mekong River. In fact, Thailand is at the other side. Breathtaking sunsets every night!

I'm in Ban Sivilay (Sivilay Village) which is a short drive from Vientiane City. Nothing beats living in a village.

Since weather reports have become part of this thread, I'll mention that we've just had 36 hours of non-stop snowfall (yes, about two feet, chas), the temperature has hovered around the -15C mark, and now we're in for a ten day cold snap. Highs around -25C, lows around -34C. Oh, and there'll be some windchill added to that. Just in case anyone asks, no I don't know what I'm doing here.

Dave,

I think you've lost it--LOVE SNOW? Well, for me it's palm trees, snow-white sand, turquoise waters, and 75-degrees f. Almost forgot. There's usually a side benefit of younger ladies wearing itsy-witsy teeny-weeny yellow polka-dot bikinis. After seeing your latest photo, though, you probably forgot about those things. wink

And yes, Chas, I figured it out right away. smile

Cheers,

Gary cool

We even have snow in Louisiana today. Grandson got to throw a few snowballs. It may be his last chance for years!

Glad to hear that Gary, after all, it WAS pretty deep........two feet deep, in fact smile smile. BTW, I'm with you on the palm trees and all, never should have left Hawaii (or Florida). Being closer to the grandkids is definitely not worth it, the little buggers.

Since this has turned into weather reporting, we're now in the middle of snow and freezing rain. All schools and the like are closed tomorrow. I'll be spending the day drowning my sorrows over the Eagle's loss today. Oh well, I still have my adopted team, the Atlanta Falcons, to root for.

I had that snow and freezing cold for over 50 years and that's enough for me.

It's currently 77 degrees in sunny Tampa today; we should be getting rain this afternoon. I like these conditions so much better.

Al,

with luck I'll be sailing to your neighborhood during the winter of 2012. We're expecting about 6 inches of snow tonight and lots more Saturday. 77 and sunny sounds a whole lot better to this old man.

Good luck Gary. The 'ole bones work a lot better when it's warmer out. We'll have to have a Welcome party with some Kickapoo Joy Juice waiting for you when you arrive.

the world is really turning upside down, if it snows even in Louisiana. Too bad for your golf... frown

Dreamer, we've had a few days of freezing temperature, so they have sprayed water on the greens. This forms a layer of ice that actually protects them from being killed by the cold. I think a similar procedure is done on fruit trees sometimes.
If I had some ice skates, I could go skate on the greens!
