Great to see that SZ retained its now 'signature' background and color scheme, but now with some nifty newly added/enhanced features. Right off, I especially appreciate the new 'preview post' feature which I trust will greatly eliminate members from having to edit/delete what they posted later on. wink

Nigel, thanks for making this such a smooth transition, at least from the member's POV. I can only imagine the amount of work it involved on your end, so thanks again for everything you do in support of our unique arranger keyboard musician community. May Synthzone continue to move upward and onward with great success in 2011. cool

I haven't had time to look at the colors settings for this forum yet but it will come. And you will be happy to know that while I still allow editing I have now applied a 4 hour delay before anyone is allowed to edit their posts. Also you can now upload an 80x80 avatar image to use.

Scott,

You must be seeing something that I'm not. The color on my screen is dark gray background with light gray letters. Nothing like what the signature colors were a few days ago.

No Gary Scott posted that when the interim forum was up that did have the same colors. That changed with this version. I'll work on it wink

Very nice. A couple of comments, although I know it's still a work in progress.

1. Probably just my old eyes but the black/white combo in the quick reply box is very difficult to read (as you're typeing). Perhaps another color combo would help.

2. Would it be possible to increase the number of posts per page or virtual page length. It's easier to scrool down than to turn pages.

3. Work on the 'Donate' box next. I'm sure there are many, including myself, that would like to help support this forum financially (provided you do the color change in the 'quick reply' box smile ).

Congrats and a big 'Thank you' for what seems so far like a pretty seamless transition of the 'best little 'fora'house' on the net smile.

I am still finding my way around things myself at the moment. I will try to get the colors back to what they were. But you can change the color scheme in the drop down menu at the bottom of the page if the default is hard for you to read.

I am playing around with colors at the moment. If you select the UUBBThreads-sz from the drop down menu at the bottom of the page to be your color scheme you will see it is moving toward the colors we used to have. But you can choose the color scheme that best suits you now so play around with it.

I have also fixed the upload avatar feature so if you had tried to do that but it didn't work give it another try.

Looks like upload avatar still don't work, tried both 79x79 png, jpg and gif format.
But no big deal, forum works anyway

Works when change image size down to 78x78 pixels. Looks like thats the limit?

Thanks for this wonderful upgrade, it will be awesome! As for colors... I am pretty sure that usability studies have proven that the vast majority of viewers do not like light text on a dark background for something that they are going to be reading alot... that in the long-term, their eyes tire of such... that black text on white background is the most preferred color scheme. (If it's a short page and something you won't view a lot, not that big of a problem.) Now, whatever you had in the past did work for me. But, I, for one, do not care for this light text on dark background.

Thanks again! Contemporary features that we get used to with other software... helps!

Thanks, I got the dark print on light background now!

Nigel... one of the most aggravating things about the old forum was that when you clicked on a thread, it would not remember what you had read and it would automatically take you to the first post. Which you may have read a long time ago... you don't need to read all of those posts over and over. I use another forum that uses the same software as this and when he did an upgrade (over a year ago), it then remembered and took you to the new posts. Can you configure this as such? (With other software that I see on other forums, there is an icon near the thread title that you can click on to take you to the first unread posts... software such as vBulletin.)

Or have I missed some way to do this on my end?

Finally the website is ready for the new decenium... I like it, it looks good and its colors are different enough from all those other forums to warrant its own identity.

Nigel ... to say "THANK YOU" seems insignificant ... we cannot THANK YOU enough ...
So good to see S-Z back 'on the air' ...

I agree with chas about the pages being longer, and with Bill (Semi Live) about starting at our own most recently read reply ... Also, I would like to see the print a little larger for these tired old eyes ... guess I will have to try to fool around with that? wink ...

But "I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!"

lets try to keep things 'nice and friendly' at least for a few hours smile ...

Poz, you can enter the number of posts you want to appear on each page:

My Stuff > Edit Preferences > Total posts to show on one page when viewing a post in flat mode: (default is 10 or type in another number)

or simply click on "ALL" directly beneath the thread "TOPIC Title" to view all replies on ONE page. smile For long threads, you'll of course need to 'scroll down' to view all replies.
