The L1 Compact works great for me, and the vast majority of those who have switched to this fantastic system. DonM used a pair of them and both he and his audiences love the sound. Hammer uses a pair of them as well and loves the sound. I use a single, and would never go back to conventional speakers. The beauty of Bose is you have a 45-day, no-questions-asked return policy for a full refund. If you like what you hear, keep em'. If you don't like what you hear, send them back. It's that easy. Gary
