This will be the Kronos release. The PA3 will be earlier I reckon.

The Karma + Motif has already been slated for noon.

Hi Nick, Whenever I chat with you or Dennis (aka Miden) on Skype, I realize you guys are 19 hours ahead of us in California, but to make things a lot easier for me to calculate, I prefer to simply think of you as 5 hours behind us ( but the next day) instead. For some reason this makes it a lot easier for me to conceptialize. smile

Spoke with SZ buddy Tapas last night and he plans to head for the Korg booth at Namm first thing when it opens tomorrow: 10am, and expecting him to call me around then and report live news from the showroom floor. I'll try to keep you guys posted. smile

btw: this is posted from my iPad. wink

KORG: The KORG Kronos (teaser video) - based on the audio in the video and other sources, rumor has it that it will be a hardware synth encompassing their legacy line of synths. Korg's version of the Arturia Origin? A hardware chameleon of the Legacy line of synths? The full Legacy line including the Analog Edition (Polysix, MS20 & Mono/Poly), the Digital Edition (M1, Wavestation), or both?

Update via Juan Vilchez in the comments: "Hi! Korg Kronos it's as you suggested something like the Arturia Origin.

Kronos = Time, legacy, heritage...

Why I am so sure?

Check this out:
Compare 000:Vaporization Pad on Korg Legacy Cell with the main sound used on Kronos teaser.

http://www.juanvilchez.es/vaporization_pad.mp3

9 could be the number of legacy synth engines present on this machine. So far I count 5 (Polysix, MS20, Mono/Poly, M1 and Wavestation). Which are the remaining 4?"

God I hope it's a lot more, and less of the same, I don't think that Kronos would capture any market, it needs to be revolutionary, or it's dead in the water.

If the 9 is a countdown, when will it begin? that's what I want to know

Yeah it will be interesting to see George. Apparently the rationale behind it is that as Roland are now dominating (by a long way I am told) the piano market, particularly home, and to a lesser extent the RD series and the super duper modelled one, that they wanted to have a value-added product for those who still wanted some arranger functions to go with their home digital piano.

It totally took me off0guard as well... Not one word of it until this morning....I was just a bit sceptical, but my guy reckons thats what his Roland rep said.

Bear in mind I am in Australia George so it may be a different market Roland are looking at...you know maybe Europe and the R.O.T.W and NOT so much the the US????
