One of the things i really didn't like on my PA800 units was that while playing a style and adding a multi-pad to it which played fine ...But upon hitting the Ending button the multi-pad would still play AFTER the song ended for a bar or two ! This is very annoying!!....the multi pad should shut of when you push an ending like the Yamaha units......I hope when they are released someone can check out this irritating problem..

Thank you

Donn,
I agree..let's hope they changed it to work the way you said.
I think Korg did it that way for a reason..but..I agree most of the time you would want the pads to stop when the styles stops.

I hope so it something the definitely needs to be fixed.
Its embarrassing on stage also when it lingers on & you have to manually remember to shut it off.

Also another concern...is the new Pa3x speaker system is hooked to the back of the unit.... IN TIME do you think it will hold up and not get loose or break off somehow.........wonder how strong it is?

Hi Donny,
that was fixed ages ago. Don't really use the pads much, so just double checked to confirm it.

Hi Donny,
just before I posted my answer. Only tried it with a few, but I doubt it would differ between the various styles.

When I get a chance, I'll try it with a few more, just to be sure.

It has been a while.

The 'problem' still exists, as you mentioned. It is very limited to a drum sequence pad, and only happens occasionally. But the pads are incredible and play exactly 'in time' with the style, no matter when engaged.

Embarrassed on stage by this minute glitch is never a problem for me, as I am in full command of my playing.

Hi Donny,
sorry about that.
I was testing it with the instrument pads ( guitars, strings etc) which do appear to stop, wheras, as Zuki mentioned, the drums don't.
They must have their reasons for it.

zuki it is a BIG problem on the PA units no matter how you want to look at it, ...
it is a BUG that needs to be corrected plain and simple, +1 for Yamaha on this feature....,in command?

It should be a menu option? Since the pads are really seperate from the styles...I wander if in rare cases you might NOT want the pad to stop with the style??

Maybe in orchestral pieces??

I've never found it this has been going on since the PA800 series was released....I have complained so many times on deaf ears.....not a problem any more for me as I have since moved on and sold that unit a while ago. But my question is, does it Still exist ion the new PA3x?

Nah, nod goes to Korg, even with that small annoyance (to some), as the pads are USEFUL.

Hi Lee,
I don't use the pads much on my korg, hence I didn't pick up on the fact that the drum pads don't stop when the ending starts to play, wheras the intrument pads , like guitar, piano etc do.

Strangely enough, the way the korg pads function, was one of the reasons I bought the korg in the first place.

The way I used to use my User pads on my Technics, was to use the pad ie a guitar rythm pad or a piano pad instead of the piano or guitar track in the style itself. Used to mute the style part & play the pad instead. This made the same style sound slightly different, depending on which pad I used. In my case , the pad wasn't an additional track to the style, but used instead of. Certainly one case of where I wouldn't want the pad to stop when I pressed the ending.
