Sorry, chas, but it was pretty deliberate. I was simply trying to make the connection between an old attitude (as in last century and before) to how some countries STILL treat women (including ours, re. ERA).

And, sorry to say, this being the 'redneck riviera', I've heard MUCH worse than that still being said by some who ought to know better..!
