This is something that I expressed hope that Nigel would NOT do when the new forum software came out. He acknowledged that he would NOT do that, but he has done just that! It's his forum and he can do whatever he wishes, but doesn't mean I gotta like it, haha. And I don't. This forum now has more "stickies" than any forum I visit, of any nature. It's not a deal killer but I just don't see the need. It makes for unnecessary scrolling. At most, one sticky, something REALLY important, IMO. Otherwise, I love the forum software.
P.S. I also do not like the flame icon that shows "hot" topics. I think that is distracting and unnecessary. All you gotta do is look at the reply count. Flames are cute for about one day, IMO.

Nothing personal to those who have posted here, but the older I get, the more amazed I am at what bothers people ... it's no wonder so many people are on XANAX ... ... Tony, first, you da man! Second, I will repeat... this forum has the most stickies of any forum I visit. And I visit a LOT. If that is good with you... well, you are more accommodating than me. But, people who click on LOTS and LOTS of links here and there, they hate unnecessary clicks and scrolls. This thread is about a complaint. Are you one who never bitches? Going concerns need feedback. Then again, one son of a bitch beat me out of 25 grand today. So, I got me panties in a wad. Bill ... mine would be also - damn that stinks ... Me never complain?!?!? ... you don't know me at all, do you? ... And I don't begrudge anyone else from complaining ... as I said - "the older I get, the more amazed I am at what bothers people" ... but different peoples buttons are pushed by different things for sure ... Having met you, I feel that you are one of the coolest, calmest dudes I know ... And you are right ... if we keep quiet, nothing changes ...

This is something that I expressed hope that Nigel would NOT do when the new forum software came out. He acknowledged that he would NOT do that, but he has done just that! Don't be so pedantic Bill. The stickies that were needed for the changeover in forum software will go away over time. Haha, had to look up what pedantic meant. I now realize that the culprit was all of those polls staying up top. On all the other forums I visit, a poll is just another thread. They run their own course and do not get special favor. Special favor being a sticky. After all, anyone can create a poll about anything, so, that is why they do not get that all-so-important real estate... the top of the forum. Also, I just realized that I do not use a desktop computer, I use a laptop and obviously, my screen depth means that I don't have as much showing as someone with a desktop. I have been webmaster of several forums, so, I do have a bit of experience here. Doesn't mean I'm right, haha. But... one other thing I'll mention is that forums are my favorite feature of the internet. As for stickies, I don't know if the software allows this, but if the stickies can be made to shade (the entire row, if possible) a different color, the eye can, at a glance, tell where the threads begin.
