I know, most of you didn't even know I was gone laugh ...

Actually, I first want to thank everyone for the 'well wishes' ... and thnx to you Steve ...

The news is good, but not great - YET ... I saw the retina specialist today and he said things are healing nicely and I can read or use the PC - or PRACTICE, Bill wink - for no more than 15 minutes an hour for the next week ...

I had a tear in the retina of my left eye - similar to what I had in the right eye last year ... It was repaired using a laser, but the symptoms worsened after about a day ... went back to the specialist and he said the tear actually worked its way past the laser repair ... there was too much hemorrhaging to use the laser, so he had to use a Cryoprobe http://www.cryoprobe-us.com/description.php#
to try to seal the tear ...

Gotta cut this short, but check out the symptoms because this can be SERIOUS ...

Back at you later ...

You're right, Tony...take care of this, because it can be serious. My mother-In-Law lost sight in one eye because she let it go overnight, instead of seeing about it immediately.

Heal up quickly!

Glad you're better, but I'm not looking at that link. I don't wanta know about no Cryoprobe. Sounds something like what an alien would do to a middle-aged couple from West Virginia.
Just tell me when you are fixed. No I don't like that word either. Tell me when you are well. smile
Of if you need me to come and read to you.

Tony,
3 years ago I had Crystal Lens replacement in both eyes because of cataract issues. About 6 months after the surgery I had a seriously detached retina. After undergoing surgery to repair the original detachment the thing detached a second time! Today after almost 2 years I still have an oil bubble in my left eye rendering it just about useless. The problem has been swelling that won't go away. I have been on 6 drops a day eye drops for 2 years now and the prognosis is not good.

It seems very little can be done to repair the damage that occurs when the retina detaches. They can re-attach the retina but the damage has been done and vision is never the same. If it doesn't cure by itself you are SOL.

I wish you well and hope all turns out ok for you.

Wow, Tony, sorry to hear you had to go through that again. Hope to 'see' you up and about, and making a 'spectical' again. hehe
