Here's an impressive 17 minute Tyros 4 demo with Peter going in detail explaining how Super Articulation works all by itself in the background. smile
Even the Korg Kronos can't do this when it comes to these SA nuances generated automatically wink by Tyros 4.
Thanks to Tapas for 'tipping me off' on this informative video. cool

Nice demo...

I still have to confess, it confuses me to see all that wasted real estate to the sides of the keybed. If you are going to make something virtually as wide as a 76, why not include a 76 and drop the wasted space? Move the wheels up to above the end of the LH (like Ketron), and you could get a 76 with virtually no change in size.

Good grief! Don't move the wheels...they're perfect where they are!

Have you ever seen the inside of a Tyros3 (which is the same as the T4)?

Not much room to play with at all...seriously!

New cabinet would be needed for 76.

Ian

BTW...Nice demo by Peter...a real pro! The Tyros4 is awesome!

Diki...you would sound awesomwe on this keyboard...Peter has no problem with 61 keys whatsoever, and I'm sure you wouldn't either...those S'Art voices are a real hoot!

Actually i think this is the weakest point of the Kronos... reed, wind and a lot of other acoustuc instrument simulations...

But then... having both a T4 and a Kronos could be an awesome combo....

Ditto to that idea! rocker
plus the Kronos would be less expensive dance2 than a PA3X.

Yes, that thought has crossed my mind too...I'd not want a PA3X in any case, but the Kronos has a an appeal to me...plus, they'll have one at my local dealers to actually try (unlike the arrangers).

Diki, I hate where the wheels are on Audya. You wouldn't think that few inches to reach would make a difference, but it does. I can reach the joystick on Roland almost without moving my hand.
I do agree the Tyros is too big for a 61-noter though.

The Audya 76 is actually a fraction narrower than a T4! Go figure.

I agree that where they are on the Audya is not optimal, but as an arranger, we tend to use the bends a lot less anyway. For me, having the extra notes would outweigh the awkwardness of the wheel location if used primarily as an arranger. I still tend to use Piano Mode as my primary input mode for the arranger, and the extra notes make a big difference there.

But, seeing as how the Audya is narrower than the T4, little more than two or three inches tops would need to be added to put them back at the side, it the job was done well. And, given that you can't even FIND a case for a T4 that isn't oversized anyway, it wouldn't make ANY difference to what is hauled around...

Peter does do a great job with 61, no argument. Anyone care to argue that he would do WORSE with a 76? wink

Its the best of all worlds...

T4: good styles, SA2 voices, vocalyser...
Kronos : piano's, synth engines, KARMA, 88 keys, crystal clear sound, indepth sound design....

If you want to live without PC hardware and VSt's this is as good as it gets...
