Yup, the exact cart that I use also...

New kb case lies flat across the bottom. The two Bose L1 speakers extensions are set on top of it, then the Bose Sub is placed at one end, while the L1 base is set at the other. Two mic stands then slid into the open space between the two extensions. My KB stand fits in between the sub and the base. Bench is set upon its side at one end, wire bag sat next to it. Music Pad Pro briefcase is set next to it. Everything is very stable, no bungy chords used, rolls along just fine.

At the performance site, I lift off the Music Pad Pro, bench and wire bag, set them to the side. I then set up my kb stand, then position both mic stands. I next position the L1 base behind me and insert both speaker extensions. Then the Bose sub is set next to the L1 base. I open the kb case (leaving it on the cart) and lift out my kb and place it on the stand. Run my PA cables, several of which are bundled together to save time, and finally set up the Music Pad Pro. Its about ten minutes or so to set up/tear down.

I use the R/R R10, but with a second tier shelf, so that no significant weight is on my KB case. It is kind of a toss up between the shelf and a heavy flight case. The difference is that I always have to lug my keyboard, but don't always have to use my shelf. My setup is similar to Bill's.

Too bad my Yamana Tyros hard shell keyboard case is too long to fit on the Rock & Roller cart. My huge case is about 55 inches in length. The Rock & Roller cart is 52 inches in length. I guess could get a smaller (length) soft case and use the shelf like Bernie9 does.

Its possible to stand the kb case upright and use bungee chords to secure it to one of the handles of the R&R. I did that with my old case and it worked fine. That opens up the rest of the RR frame for other stuff.

Get creative...just do it smartly/carefully...

Good luck!

When I have a longer haul from the car to the job, I use the Rock and Roller also. I use a custom made top rack, designed by Gary Diamond.
At my regular job it's only a few steps, so I just make a few trips. Actually the bus boys usually do it for me.
The heaviest piece I carry is 25 pounds, so no big deal.
I was running a little late Friday, and set up in SEVEN minutes, from car to playing!

Thanks for the pics of your rig Gary. I think I need a fan too, as these places seem to be kept really warm. Also, let me add that you look really sharp!

Donny introduced me to the fan several years ago--wouldn't leave home without it, summer or winter. At $8 a copy it was the best investment I've ever made. After purchasing the first one, I bought a second the next day--just to be on the safe side.

I've had a fan in my rig for almost 30 years. But initially it wasn't to keep cool, it was to blow the smoke back at the smokers. Now I just don't play in places that allow smoking.
But I still keep the fan, AND a small electric heater, in the car.

The fan is positioned so that it lifts the cooler air from the floor, which flows over most of my body, while at the same time, not causing wind noise on the mic. And yes, the knee caps and other lower body parts are cooled as well. wink

Cheers,

Gary cool

I have the R12 with the bigger wheels and LOVE it. I take my Roadready ATA case and put it vert. and secure with bungee then the BOSE base and 2 subs, then my seat then at the other end a TV table and the 2 pole sections. If I thinbk of it I will take a picture of it this weekend and post it.

Here's my set up taken at the entrance of this afternoon's gig. The keyboard case is a Guardian 76 key case for the Tyros 4. Bottom left is hard shell equipment case for cables/foot pedals and a power strip. Angling the keyboard case makes for a little better fit than trying to load it horizontally.

Steve I love my Guardian 61 case also best case I ever used light & strong....nice pic & gig packin' too !

PS...I suggest you stand that atache` type case up to level off the Kb so when your inside it will be easier to take out the KB wink

Yes that is the base unit to the Bose Compact, bottom photo another angle.

Donny, sometimes I do stand up the equipment case to level off the keyboard. I usually take the Guardian right off the the RnR cart to unload. The extra length of the 76 key case touches the the handles on either end makes it a bit harder to remove the keyboard while on the cart. I miss being able to use the 61 key model for T4 that I used to use with the s910.

I'm with ya on the Guardian case, I love it, light weight lots of protection but strong.
