I recently discovered a remedy that helped clear up the problem a lot.
Recently having suffered a bad cold and sinus infection, my doctor recommended using a Neti Pot.
When I first got it I thought it was totally weird, but believe it or not, it really WORKS great, flushing your sinus' of pollen, smoke, and gunk.
I use it once in the morning, before going to bed, and before a gig to keep my sinus' clear to freely breathe and sing clearly through the day/evening.
My doc also told me that using the Neti Pot regularly may also help reduce the chance of catching a cold.

Here's the one I use & recommend:

NeilMed NasaFlo Unbreakable Neti Pot with 50 Premixed Packets

Good luck, - Scott cool

One of the things about hydration is, you have to do it up to four HOURS before you need it. If you are leaving hydration until you get to the gig, it's too late by then. Drink PLENTY of water in the afternoon, if on an evening gig. Then all you have to do is top up as you go...

Each treatment only takes 4-5 minutes. My nasal allergy sypmtoms are relatively mild, so each treatment usually keeps my sinus' clear most of tne day or evening. What I appreciate is no longer having to deal with the side effects of allergy medications. For more severe sinus allergy symptoms, more frequent treatments, or simply used as an adjunct to taking allergy medications may be required. Considering it's relatively cheap $15 price, I think it's well worth giving the Neti Pot a try. I'm certainly glad I did. cool
