You know, Impuls, I just realized that might be the problem, and my sincere apologies to the player, and to all reading and watching, for my remark above, if that is the case.

And yes, he plays very well indeed...he's the best demonstrator I've seen them use so far.

I noticed that also ....either this guy has terrible eye sight, or a possible handicap, or Korg and others need to make larger display screens on arranger KB's that could only be a BIG improvement that would help players in many ways. I'm still our to lunch on making an opinion on what I'm hearing with the PA3x vs the Pa2x for now..Scott thank you for the heads up video....hope to see more soon.

Yes, before I forget...

Thanks Scott, for finding these videos.

From our conversations, I understand you feel much like I do in regards to Korg, and that we both hope that the PA3Xpro is a success for them.

I'm still looking at these videos, and listening to the demos on the Korg site, and I'm much like Nigel; I haven't really formed an opinion yet...but, there's something missing with the instrument, and I can't quite say what it is yet.

Perhaps with more time, it will reveal itself.

In the meantime, it's great to have more demos to examine.

Thanks again,

Ian

Rod Pooley is well known in the UK and he has a very severe visual deficiency hence the peering at the buttons.

Thanks Col...I was thinking afterwards that the PA3Xpro's screen and button layout couldn't have been that bad.

Rod certainly has not let his visual impairment interfere with his skill as an arranger player. Nice chops.

I agree this PA3X video presentation doesn't optimally showcase the Pa3x's sound quality, but neither do the Namm videos shot by my friend Tapas Das of Martin Harris demoing Tyros 4 either. Both were filmed in HD yet simply ultilize a similar quality built in camera mic to pickup what is heard thru the room's Pa system. In an attempt to present an "apples to apples" similarly recorded sound comparison between the PA3X and Tyros 4, and with both instruments demonstrated by equally competant pro arranger keyboardists, here's the Martin Harris one posted on my YouTube channel:

Come on.

You are all so polite, it was tosh, for a top of the range KB, the poor chap obviously had visual problems, the main object of the exercise was to listen to the real quality, is that what you heard, I didn't, these are missed opportunities. I think we need to just give in, go do the music shack when one comes in, having said that Telmo snippets are excellent. You know these people perhaps do think that someone is going to record their performances and stick them on SZ, if they saw the result they would perhaps cringe.

Yep, I didn't think it would be the screen. I've had an i30 and a Pa1X for a number of years. I wear bi-focals all the time and screen viewing has never been a problem for me. He's a tasty player, that lad.
