What module in that price range would you prefer.

How cool would it be if Korg and Yamaha produced a TOTL module? Heck, you could own them all for the price of just one TOTL keyboard.

I think it would great if Korg and Yamaha made modules, even if they were based on the mid-range instruments.

I doubt if it will happen.

I think what Roland has done (and they are masters at it) is to find a segment of the market that will probably only sell enough units for perhaps one manufacturer to fill...then they fill it before anyone else does. Ketron's module is far too expensive to be any competition.

I also believe they were getting a demand for a module from their accordion division...that's how the RA-series got started many years ago; because of accordion players wanting arranger features. I remember meeting accordionist Luigi Bruti, many years ago, when he did a clinic on the RA modules in Toronto...Luigi also helped to create Roland V-Accordion. Awesome player.

Really cheap isn't this module in the Netherlands. He will cost me 899 Euro plus 113 Euro for the pedal. If you already own a digital piano I see the value of the BK 7m but if you are looking for a new or second arranger for the same money I can buy a Yamaha psr s710 or Korg PA500 and both of them sound much better to me then this module. Again this is personal and don't want to start a war.

Franz,
I think everyone has to buy whatever they need for the budget they have to work with and their own musical taste. My attraction to a module is very simple. Like most of the forum members I am getting up in age (soon to be 71) and anything that will lighten my load is worth a try. I often play twice a day and on a few days 3 times a day - all at different sites. So, carrying around lighter gear is a plus for me. But, the overall sound has to be first rate - my clients can tell the difference and are very vocal if they don't like what they hear. I intend to try the BK-7m with a midi controller at a few of my gigs and if it is well received it will be a keeper - if not it will be for sale.

Your point about price is well made and whatever gear your ears prefer is where you should spend your money.

I am creating my first performance list and it is a pain to use the wheel for lettering. Sure would have been nice for Roland to have provided a computer program where you could alter styles or at least rename things.

Deane,
I think you can name them with a very short name, say a number or initial, then later take the stick out and edit the name on your computer. I think I read that you can edit the Performance List info on PC. You might check it out.

I learned last night that the BK7m I pre-ordered came in and was shipped last night. I'll get it Thursday!! I've listened to the demos and think this will add variety to Tyros4. I'm so curious how it will sound on the same amplifier and speakers I use for Tyros4. I love new toys!!!!!!! -charley

I can't hear these demo's that Hammer posted. I keep getting a "the page has expired" notification. Does anyone know what's wrong?
