Dean,

I just read some similar solutions to the problem you're having on saving to sets list on BK7M Mailing list at YahooGroups. Something about loading the Master List, selecting the performance you want and then loading the list you want to save to then saving it to that list. Has something to do with having the settings in resident memory first then loading the new list and saving it to that list for future use.

It was very recent post so if you go to that forum you might find exactly what was written quickly. They're mostly Accordian (F7X) players, but there are som others there. I think DonM is there too.

Now, it looks like the BK7M has the same file naming structure as other Roland arrangers like G-70, G-1000 and E series. I wrote to Richard asking if it is possible to use Session Manager to edit the UPS files and UPGs and also manage the files from a PC. I'm awaiting an answer. If yes, it may be a way to update the OTS settings on performances and UPGs.

Hi guys,

Have tried session manager, but at the moment it doesn't work. having said that, I never used it with my G70 so perhaps it is me that can't d it correctly!

Deane, to save a music assistant to your user program list, just call it up then load your user program list, and write the setting you have there. t's quite straight forward but time consuming if you want to copy a lot of the over.

I have been trying to follow the yahoo group, and have joined, but find the layout of the bulletin boards very frustrating, so I only dip in and out. However, from what I gather, if you create a setting for a particular style, the go to makeup tools and choose 'freeze data' then this effectively gives you one OTS, as it will be recalled when you call up the style. I haven't tried it, mainly because it's not the way I work with the module, so do 't need it. I will have a go tomorrow, but it is 02.45am just now, and I am off to bed. I have been away all day visiting family and have not had a second to touch any of my musical gear.

Good luck.

John

No it doesn't. It plays midi files in .mid format and .kar format, Audio files such as mp3, wav, and aiff. It also has a cd+g facility, and like the BK-7m can be connected to a 2TB external sel;f-powered hard drive.

I have been experimenting with speaker setups with the BK-7m. When I use a single Bose L1 Compact and use only the L/Mono output on the module the sound is not to bad but seems to need EQing to make it sound natural. If I use both outputs on the module and run them into a single Bose Speaker the sound become extremely thin with so much Reverb that you could never use it on a gig.

If I connect both my Bose L1 Compacts to the module the sound is pretty darn good but still needs EQing. I hate to have to add a mixer to my setup. Anyone know why this would happen? Using both compacts on most of my gigs is overkill.

Deane sound like your having Stereo phase issues as I suspect thats the way most of the styles were created to be played in Stereo. Summing the signals can effect the Stereo sound it was intended to be heard. You might have to use the one L/mono out to the Bose and accept the sound loss vs Stereo...are yo using a Y plug in your other hook up you stated also. Or have you tried using a Mixer ?

Hi Donny,
I don't own a mixer but might need one with the module. The module has EQ built into it but a mixer would be much easier to use.

Yes, I was using a Y-adapter into a single Compact. That really does not work at all. However, the sound with both compacts is pretty darn good.

Any suggestions for a decent mixer. I don't need dozens of IOs just enough to run my module into and then into my speakers.
