As an American of Chinese ancestry I find nothing racially demeaning in the lyrics to "Kung Foo Fighting" at all. I actually think it might be a fun novelty tune to consider adding to my own act now. I suspect the headline saying Simon Ledger was arrested for simply singing the song not the complete story, and that there's more to this than merely singing the song. He might have added racially mocking jestures and speech. Freedom of speech I suppose, but in a Chinese restaurant? If nothing else, he may have simply been arrested for public intoxication and disturbing the peace. The article headline seems more an attention grabber device than anything else.

Hi Tom Sleep. . . what's that? Woke up in the middle of the night and with my instant on iPad so coveniently accessible next to my bed on the nightstand, its too easy to quickly 'check up on and even touchscreen post' on the forum with my iPad or Android phone anywhere I am 24 hours a day, both home or on the road. I actually spend more time on Synthzone thru these wireless portable devices than thru my home desktop PC now. Ok, back to sleep to get a few more winks.

Don,
Do you need a cake with a file in it? John Denver's lyrics can't begin to compare with the better Beatle stuff like "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" and "You Know My Name Lookup the Number".
He didn't sing in a Chinese restaurant, he sang somewhere else and later he was arrested in a Chinese restaurant. If he was a racist I doubt he would be mocking Chinese and then popping in a Chinese restaurant for some Peking Duck.
