I agree, but I suspect part of the problem may have something to do with the competitive nature of the music entertainment biz itself, requiring one to promote their:
1) musical ability (chops)
2) charm & charisma (stage presence)
3) attention by doing 'anything' to grab the limelight, including shouting "look at me !", or as evidenced by some on this forum:
hijacking a thread for the sole purpose of redirecting attention away from the topic poster, and to them instead, sometimes ignoring the original topic altogether. how rude is that?
As fellow arranger keyboard musician entertainers with a diverse range of different music backgrounds & experiences,
I think we all need to step back and make an 'extra effort' to keep our egos in check and kept outside the forum door, and to treat one another with mutual respect and less as competitors.
It's up to us. I'm remaining hopeful.
