Hi everybody,
very good community here, helps a lot !
I am using the Audya 4 with a Midi Accordeon and I want to play the bass and chords of some styles manually. When I used my old MS40 it was very simple, I just had to press the bass/chords buttons and then I had them manual. How do I do it with the Audya ? Bass is fine, there is a manual bass button to activate it, but what about the chords ?
Best regards,
Franconia

I would also like to play some manual base and chords but in my case the "manual base" button does nothing (Audya 4 and midi accordion). Your right it used to be so simple...

The Manual Bass should de-activate the Arranger Bass line and allow you to manually (via Midi Chanel 3) control/play the bass.
To do this with the chords isn't as direct as it was on the MS units.
* Go to MENU - MIDI and set the CHANNEL RX for Chords 1-5 to "2".
* EXIT back to the main screen.
* Now select the style you want to play.
* Got to STYLE VIEW and press MUTE (F4).
* Now press F6-F10 (these are the Chords 1-5) to mute them.
* Next, play. You should now hear the chords MANUALLY as you play.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi there,
I tried AJs suggestion and it worked, but the problem is that all the other registrations are affected as well (especially the ones I want to play with automatic), seems like a global change of the midi settings. How can I have only certain registrations with these different midi settings of manual bass and chords ? On stage, I cannot always change the midi settings when I want to play fully manual and do the next song with automatic. Your help is much appreciated.

Hello Franconia,

Why not set up the auto rythems (arranger) in accordion1, and manual chords and bass in accordion2???

Should work

It's been severeal months since my last post on this subject, anyone found an answer yet? I have my right hand (midi accordion) set to channel 1, my left hand chords on ch 2, and the left hand base set on ch 4. Then I set the Audya to receive on Ch 1, 2, & 3. That way when using styles the manual base does not sound. Then if I want to play manually with no style accompanyment I have to go into the menu and change the ch receive for base to 3. Then I also do not turn on the "key start" because I do not want the style accompaniment to play. This is awkward enough but I still have a problem in that the base sound is at least an octave to low (maybe 2) and I cannot figure out a way to change the octave of the base sound. I cannot just do a global transpose upwards because then the chords and righ hand are too high. If you manage to understand all of this and have any suggestions please advise. Thanks, Gary

Hi Gary,

Press MUNU:
Press F4 KEYBOARD:
Press F5 ACCORDION:
The F8 button is BASS OCTIVE:
Press F8, and then select with cursor. you can go up or down 2 octives.

Don't know if you have the capability to select this function from your accordion.

Also, if I read your post correctly you are getting bass notes when you don't want them. thus you are setting the bass to Ch. 4. and then changing back to Ch. 3.

When in accordion mode as deescribed above, at USER button 3/8, it says BassonStop, or BassoffStop. Set that to off.

Also, I would recommend that you create your manual bass setup in accordion2 and your auto/arranger setup in accordion1. That way you only have to select one thing if you want to play manual press accordion2, and auto press accordion1. Be sure to SAVE.

Press MENU:
Press MIDI:
now USER button 4/9 is accordion1
and USER 5/10 is accordion2

Hope this helps

P. S. Gary,

Also, if you go to the STYLE MODE, at USER 3/8 is BASS1/2. Press to go to BASS2/2 there you will find the MANUAL BASS LEVEL F2, and MANUAL BASS DYN F3.

Good Luck

Hi Don,

this was the solution and the accordion1 and 2 set ups can be saved in the registrations, depending if I want to play manually or with the automatic. Thanks a lot & Greetings from Franconia !
