I am controlling my Midjay with an Edirol PC800 keyboard controller.
I am able to call up notes, sounds, start and stop the styles, etc., easily.
The manual says I should be able to trigger fills, variations, intros and endings via midi,
but I am so far unable to do this.
Does anyone know how?

AJ, I emailed this question to you several weeks ago, but no response.

Thanks,
DonM

I'm not really great with all this midi stuff..
So ..I have a bear with me

Yes. The manual says it is done with system exclusive messages, and it lists them. I program them into the controller, but the MJ doesn't respond.
I have the MJ set to receive System Eclusive messages and both units are set to midi channel 1.
Thanks for taking the time to try to help.

DonM,

When you turn on the SysEx in the Midijay, did you save this setting in the Power On Setup?

Also when you press MENU in PLAYMODES, are you in KEYBOARD?

This should work.

I just spent almost an hour on the phone with the Edirol support team. I am doing everything correctly on the Edirol. There is something that is NOT happening on the Midjay.
It's too bad that the manual lists this function and NOBODY can help me set it up.
I do appreciate those of you who have tried though.
Thanks,
DonM

AJ, or DanO,

Could you please check to see if the Midjay will recognize ANY System Exclusive message.
The manual says it does of course, but I can't get mine to do actually do it.
Thanks,
DonM

Don, is there also a control channel that has to match up with the Edirol and Ketron?
